<p>Position Description:</p> <p>MCW is looking for an Inpatient Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider in our Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology</p> <p>Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - GI & Hepatology specialty</p> <p>The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, providing a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for the patients of the inpatient services as a member of the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.</p> <p>The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.</p> <p>In this role you will,and be responsible for the following: Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring medical intervention in inpatient environment as a member of the gastroenterology team.</p> <p>Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders</p> <p>Core Advanced Practice Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial status.</p> </li><li> <p>Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information</p> </li><li> <p>Write accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders</p> </li><li> <p>Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor effectiveness of plan of care</p> </li><li> <p>Educate patients on disease and treatment plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform procedures as trained and appropriately credentialed.</p> </li><li> <p>Document within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and completes other necessary documents.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate and/or consults with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Educates, counsels, and assists patients and families regarding current health problems, health maintenance activities and preventive behaviors.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Joint Commission.</p> </li><li> <p>Acquires information on the most current development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature.</p> </li></ul> <p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by most people assigned to this job.
