May travel to Rochester or Warren as needed.</p> <p>Surgical Scheduling - Michigan Spine and Brain Surgeons - 40 Hours - Days</p> <p>Eligible for Full-Time Benefits</p> <p>Shift: Days 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. No weekends.</p> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY:</p> <p>Coordinates OR surgery schedules to maximize efficient use of operating rooms, equipment, and staff.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Works with physician offices to gather information needed to schedule surgeries consistent with department guidelines and accommodating physician's requests and patient's needs. </li><li>Assigns operating suites and equipment and blocks times to maximize efficient use of resources. </li><li>Ensures that necessary demographic, billing and insurance information is entered into electronic medical records and coordinates with Patient Admitting as needed to prevent delays in scheduled surgery. </li><li>May reschedule surgeries as needed to accommodate emergencies or other unanticipated events. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma equivalency - 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:</p> <ul> <li>Minimal of two years in a healthcare setting preferred. </li><li>Familiar with insurances/authorizations. </li><li>Familiar with health insurance industry, prior authorization and surgical scheduling. </li><li>Strong attention to detail. </li><li>Excellent customer service. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>Organization: Henry Ford Providence Hospitals </li><li>Shift: Day Job </li><li>Union Code: Not Applicable </li></ul>
