<p>Summary</p> <p>Mizuho is seeking a seasoned Vice President to drive the automation, data analytics, and strategic uplift of the Regulatory Reporting function. This role will have a strong emphasis on Dataiku-based development, data mining, and advanced analytics to support regulatory reporting, data quality, and control frameworks across high-risk regulatory reports, including FR Y-9C, FR Y-15, FFIEC 031, FFIEC 002, and FFIEC 009. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and analytical capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into actionable regulatory and business insights.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead the design and development of Dataiku workflows to support regulatory reporting automation, data mining, and advanced analytics use cases.</p> </li><li> <p>Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, transformation logic, and analytical datasets using Dataiku, SQL (Snowflake), and Python.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform deep data mining and exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, data quality issues, and control gaps impacting regulatory reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with Regulatory Reporting, Data Governance, and upstream data owners to define critical data elements, data quality rules, and monitoring metrics.</p> </li><li> <p>Support automation of regulatory reporting processes, including MDRM mapping, rule logic, validation frameworks, and exception management workflows.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct root cause analysis of data quality issues, reconciliation breaks, and reporting variances, leveraging analytical tools rather than manual processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Translate regulatory and business requirements into detailed technical and functional requirements for data and analytics solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Support governance activities, including Regulatory Reporting Working Group and Governance Committee meetings, issue management, and stakeholder communications.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a strong bias for execution and accountability.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications - Must Haves</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or certification preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>6+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, regulatory reporting, or related functions within a financial services or banking environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on experience developing solutions in Dataiku, including visual recipes, code recipes, automation scenarios, and productionized workflows.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong data mining and analytical skills, with the ability to work directly with large, complex datasets.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in SQL (preferably Snowflake) and Python (e.g., pandas, numpy) for data transformation and analysis.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience performing root cause analysis on complex data issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications - Nice to Haves</p> <ul> <li> <p>Familiarity with U.S. regulatory reports (e.g., FR Y-9C, FR Y-15, FFIEC 031, FFIEC 002, FFIEC 009).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with AxiomSL or similar regulatory reporting platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Power BI, data modeling, and dashboard development.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with JIRA and agile delivery models.</p> </li></ul> <p>The expected base salary ranges from $120,000 - $185,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.</p> <p>#LI-Hybrid</p> <p>Other requirements</p> <p>Mizuho has in place a hybrid working program, with varying opportunities for remote work depending on the nature of the role, needs of your department, as well as local laws and regulatory obligations.
