<p>Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):</p> <p>Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in a bioscience or related field in hand by hire date. Experience with research. Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures and using special methods for data collection and interpretation.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Experience with microbiology research. Experience with animal handling. Basic cell culture, DNA extraction, and/or PCR skills.</p> <p>Brief Description of Duties:</p> <p>Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program for Dr. Erich Mackow in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.</p> <p>The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. The ideal candidate has safety procedure knowledge.</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct experiments; provide technical laboratory support, and/or animal handling to assist with experiments conducted. Ensure that SOPs are followed when hazardous materials are used in connection with research animals, tissue culture and pathogens. </li><li>Perform literature search; staying current in the field by reading and discussing the literature and experimental results with the supervisor. </li><li>Collect data, record observations measurements and prepare reports for review of the supervisor. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Special Notes:</p> <p>The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.
