For a better tomorrow, we play today.</p> <p>OUR VALUES</p> <ul> <li>Innovation </li><li>Commitment & Passion </li><li>Integrity </li><li>Team & Relationships </li></ul> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>The primary focus of the Environmental Engineer role is to ensure that LSI is committed to creating and maintaining an environmentally sound and sustainable workplace. The Engineer will ensure compliance with the environmental protection guidelines outlined by the ISO 14001 standards and ensure compliance with other relevant regulations.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for all aspects of LSI's ISO environmental certification (ISO 14001). </li><li>Serve as the corporate consultant/subject matter expert for environmental initiatives and 14001 compliance for all divisions. </li><li>Strategize and execute on LSI's environmental sustainability targets. </li><li>Focus on continuous improvement through analyzing data, feedback, and trends. Implement measures to enhance environmental performance. </li><li>Manage the environmental corrective action system. </li><li>Conduct thorough inspections and complete risk assessments in the work environment to identify a variety of potential hazards, uncover unsafe practices and find environmental risks. Analyze learnings to determine effectiveness of program(s), develop and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate risks. </li><li>Ensure compliance with environmental and relevant regulations, including permitting, reporting requirements and proper disposal of hazardous materials. </li><li>Coordinate waste pickups, maintain waste storages areas, and track waste manifests. </li><li>Monitoring of air emissions, wastewater management, hazardous waste handling and other potential impacts to the environment from a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Support the creation and execution of emergency response plans (fire, chemical, weather related, natural disasters and medical emergencies) and conduct scenarios to ensure robust plans are in place. </li><li>Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and industry best practices; advise management on necessary changes to maintain compliance. </li><li>Review the performance of contractors and vendors; ensure compliance of environmental regulations when third-parties are onsite. </li><li>Collaborate with the Safety Manager and HR on employee health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives. </li><li>Prepare for regulatory audits and prepare reports as needed for leadership. </li></ul> <p>Attributes</p> <ul> <li>Committed to lifelong learning by staying current on industry trends and implementing best practices. </li><li>Passionate about workplace sustainability and a continuous improvement culture. </li><li>Strong sense of curiosity and observational skills. </li><li>Ability to effectively prioritize projects and keep yourself on track. </li><li>Thoroughness and accuracy with an eye for details. </li><li>Effectively communicate through actively listening and using consideration before responding. </li><li>Solve issues that arise in the work environment and when possible, remove obstacles. </li><li>Possess a collaborative and influencer mindset and assumes positive intentions. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in an Environmental Engineering or similar role </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience required. </li><li>Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards. </li><li>Experience of management systems with qualification to ISO14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 preferred. </li><li>Proven Environment Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment required. </li><li>Occupational Health and Safety Certification (CSP, CIH) preferred. </li><li>Travel required as needed. </li></ul> <p>The starting target salary range is $75,000 - $105,000, depending upon qualifications and experience. Expanded pay ranges may be available for growth and advancement opportunities. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for a profit-sharing opportunity.
