<p>Job Title: Planning Coordinator</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a Planning Coordinator, you manage material availability for complex engineering projects in a high-tech, low-volume semiconductor environment. You ensure that logistical requirements are in place to support project execution and supplier selection, while proactively identifying risks, driving issue resolution, and aligning stakeholders. You translate project and configuration changes into clear plans for the supply chain, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and provide expert advice on product lifecycle management (PLM) to senior stakeholders.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage project material availability planning to secure logistical requirements such as move rates and capabilities, and support supplier selection decisions. </li><li>Identify all relevant stakeholders and proactively inform them about updates, risks, and potential impacts related to material availability. </li><li>Take independent action to resolve material availability issues and drive timely decisions. </li><li>Lead and present Level 1 escalations and actively contribute to Level 2 and Level 3 escalations related to supply and logistics. </li><li>Define re-use strategies for modules and sub-components and implement these strategies in project material availability planning. </li><li>Perform day-to-day operational logistics tasks to support engineering projects and factory operations, including coordination of materials, work orders, and inventory tracking. </li><li>Think ahead to foresee potential material and logistics issues and proactively involve the appropriate stakeholders to address them. </li><li>Ensure clear accountability within the project team and Supplier Account Team for logistics and supply chain deliverables. </li><li>Proactively share key information on project material availability, critical paths, and costs with stakeholders on a consistent basis. </li><li>Analyze boundary conditions such as cost constraints and identify solutions that minimize impact on project timelines and budgets. </li><li>Drive actions to mitigate risks related to material availability, logistics, and costs, and involve the Supplier Account Team when needed. </li><li>Advise stakeholders on PLM activities, clearly indicating risks, opportunities, and solution directions from a supply chain and PLM perspective. </li><li>Present recommendations and analyses directly to senior stakeholders, ensuring that the PLM point of view is well represented. </li><li>Support configuration changes within engineering projects while safeguarding PLM requirements and supply chain constraints. </li><li>Proactively plan configuration changes in a logical sequence and help the project set the right priorities with respect to timing and costs. </li><li>Identify opportunities to cluster configuration changes to minimize impact on the supply chain and coordinate with Configuration Management. </li><li>Take the lead in aligning stakeholders when configuration changes affect multiple projects. </li><li>Translate project and plan updates into concrete targets and actions for project coordinators and execute these actions effectively. </li><li>Perform impact analyses for plan changes and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. </li><li>Look ahead to identify, resolve, and prevent potential material availability issues arising from changes in project plans. </li><li>Distinguish between Product Generation Process and Issue Relation Management and drive relevant supply and sourcing issues within development and engineering projects toward timely and cost-effective solutions. </li><li>Understand supply chain and product and design (P&D) requirements for development and engineering projects and communicate these clearly to colleagues. </li><li>Contribute to defining supply chain management requirement lists (QLTCs) and explain the impact when requirements are not met. </li><li>Defend and advocate for supply chain requirements with stakeholders to ensure robust project execution. </li><li>Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in addition to daily operational responsibilities. </li><li>Independently lead cross-sector improvement projects from requirements specification through full deployment and verification of results. </li><li>Own at least one PLM work instruction and/or process and act as a key user for that process. </li><li>Work with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure accurate bills of materials (BOMs), work orders, and MRP data. </li><li>Utilize MRP systems, ERP tools, and SAP to support material planning, inventory tracking, and production scheduling. </li><li>Support strategic and schedule planning activities to align supply chain capabilities with project needs. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>BS or MS degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration. </li><li>At least 2 years of post-college, related work experience. </li><li>Background in the semiconductor or technology industry. </li><li>Experience with project management in a technical or supply chain context. </li><li>Experience with supply chain and logistics processes, preferably in a high-tech, low-volume environment. </li><li>Strong skills in materials planning, materials analysis, and inventory tracking. </li><li>Hands-on experience with MRP systems and ERP platforms, including SAP or SAP ERP. </li><li>Proficiency in working with bills of materials (BOMs), work orders, and production planning data. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects and logistics across engineering and manufacturing functions. </li><li>Ability to perform impact analyses, manage risks and issues, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with cost awareness and understanding of boundary conditions. </li><li>Ability to lead and contribute to escalations and drive issues toward resolution within agreed timing and costs. </li><li>Effective stakeholder management skills, including the ability to advise and present to senior stakeholders. </li><li>Clear understanding of supply chain and product lifecycle management (PLM) requirements in engineering projects. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in planning and logistics processes in a high-tech, low-volume manufacturing or engineering environment is a plus. </li><li>Prior experience in project coordination within manufacturing or engineering organizations. </li><li>Knowledge of engineering management and production planning practices. </li><li>Experience with strategic planning and schedule planning in a supply chain context. </li><li>Familiarity with configuration management and change management processes. </li><li>Ability to lead cross-functional improvement projects from requirements definition to deployment and verification. </li><li>Strong communication skills to explain supply chain requirements (including QLTCs) and their impact to various stakeholders. </li><li>Capability to act as a key user and process owner for PLM-related work instructions and processes. </li><li>Motivation to grow into advanced supply chain, materials, or engineering roles within a high-tech organization. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This role is based onsite in Wilton, CT, with the possibility of a hybrid schedule after successful completion of training. You work in a high-tech semiconductor environment focused on low-volume, complex manufacturing and engineering projects. The typical schedule is either 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility as needed. The dress code is business casual. You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and supplier account teams, using tools such as MRP systems, ERP platforms, and SAP to manage materials and support project execution.
