<p>Required Education/Experience</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED and 2 years </li><li>Design Work Experience or </li><li>Associate's Degree </li><li>In Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Technology </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Driver's License Required </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Must work at field locations in all weather conditions </li><li>Must climb ladders and stairs </li><li>Must work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces) </li><li>Must wear all necessary personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including; fire retardant clothing and safety harness </li></ul> <p>Additional Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers. </li><li></li><li>All applicants must pass all required placement exams. </li><li></li><li>Must sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer and review design drawing hard copies for entire shift. </li><li>Must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to use hands for entire shift. </li><li>Must stand to operate office equipment or review hard copy drawings for entire shift. </li></ul> <p>Core Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>The JR DESIGNER Transmission Line Eng will be working within the Central Engineering organization and will be responsible for performing design work and coordinating with Designers from other disciplines, Engineers, Substation and Transmission Operations personnel. Additionally, they will provide design field support within Substation, Company facilities, or Transmission field locations. This position allows designers to be involved in all stages of the design process, from conception to finished plans. </li><li>This career requires a working knowledge of drafting and electrical power system basics. Applicant will perform all aspects of design work including but not limited to: preparation and development of construction drawings and documents; coordination of design work with other designers, engineers, and Substation and Transmission Operations personnel; performing field walk as required and design support during construction within Substations, Company facilities, or Transmission field locations. </li><li>The applicant must have working knowledge and must be able to read and prepare utility layouts and construction drawings including general arrangement plans, sections, elevations, and installation details as well as working with drafting standards. </li><li>The applicant must be able to read and interpret power system design and installation, industry codes, manufacturer equipment drawings and material specifications. </li><li>The applicant will work with civil, electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines, designing new and modifying existing substations and transmission facilities. The applicant must be dedicated, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and on teams. </li><li>The applicant must have strong computer proficiency with the ability to perform drafting and design in AutoCAD 2D as well as working effectively with Microsoft Office. </li><li>Knowledge of 3D design is desirable. </li></ul>
