<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center is a retirement community committed to serving our residents with the upmost dignity and respect and caring for our staff in the same manner. We have served the community for 57 years and pride ourselves on the care we have been able to give during that time.</p> <p>Fairhaven is seeking a full-time Life Enrichment Activity Aide in our Supportive Care area to perform a variety of activities supporting the Life Enrichment function. This non-exempt position is 40 hours per week, (8:30-5:00pm) with some flexibility required.</p> <p>Primary Function: Implementing activities in compliance with requirements or regulations to meet the well-being needs of each resident under the direction of the life enrichment coordinator.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Facilitates opportunities to meet resident needs through group or individual planned activities primarily in Supportive Care. </li><li>Works collaboratively with life enrichment coordinator and life enrichment assistants to ensure quality programs/planning for involvement that meet specific interests and needs. </li><li>Assists with planning, posting, and completion of programs for monthly calendars. </li><li>Assists the L.E. Coordinator with documentation that charts and supports engagement. </li><li>Assist with completing documentation requirements that fall under federal and state guidelines. </li><li>Assists with orientation of new activity staff and volunteers as needed. </li><li>Notifies supervisor when supplies are needed, equipment needs repair, and when facilities need further maintenance. </li><li>Responsible for reporting unusual resident conditions or routines to supervisor or charge nurse. </li><li>Participates in creating an atmosphere, which allows for the privacy, dignity, cleanliness, safety and well-being of each individual. </li><li>Acts as a customer service representative for Fairhaven with residents, families, vendors, volunteers and other visitors. </li><li>Interacts positively with all residents and staff at all times, creating an atmosphere which promotes a caring and homelike environment. </li><li>Maintains, cares for, and safely uses supplies and equipment effectively and efficiently per Fairhaven policies and procedures. </li><li>Follows infection control and waste management procedures as they relate to this position. </li><li>Reports any incidents or suspicion of abuse to supervisor or on call personnel immediately. </li><li>Ensuring that resident rights are met and reporting any negligence thereof. </li><li>Protects personal belongings of each resident. Search for and report any missing items. </li><li>Completes all in-service training requirements in a timely manner </li><li>Completes all duties and tasks as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Identifies improvements to processes and recommends changes to management. </li><li>Identifies safety hazards or emergency situations to resolve if possible and / or report. </li><li>Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department operations or quality assurance. </li><li>Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon changing environment and resident dynamic. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor. </li><li>Assists with coverage in other levels of care as needed. </li></ul> <p>Essential Qualifications & Requirements:</p> <p>Type of work and characteristics of duties require:</p> <ul> <li>Physical condition allowing for normal activity duties including but not limited to; lifting, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, grabbing, pushing, pulling, standing or walking an entire shift, use of arms and hands with dexterity. </li><li>Ability to push or pull up to 20 lbs. </li><li>Ability to read and understand written instruction. </li><li>Ability to speak clearly in unbroken English. </li><li>Ability to acquire appropriate driver's license for resident transportation (JO5). </li><li>Ability to pay attention to a variety of details at one time. </li><li>Ability to use Microsoft office and computer skills necessary to plan and program efficiently. </li><li>Ability to show warmth, love, and compassion and to make residents feel comfortable. </li><li>Comfortable working in a Christian centered environment, including reading the bible, sharing devotions, and praying before meals. </li><li>Ability to communicate well with departmental staff to create collaboration in meeting quality of life needs for each resident. </li><li>Ability to adapt approach for conversation or activity engagement based on resident ability. </li><li>The ability with amplification if necessary to be heard clearly in front of multiple individuals. </li><li>Dependability & Punctuality </li><li>Adherence to all regulations specified in the Fairhaven employee handbook, procedures and policy documents. </li><li>High school graduate or equivalent. </li><li>Ability to read and follow regulations and instructions. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Mainly Supportive Care Units, entire campus, and off site outings scheduled. </li><li>Individual duties within a team environment </li><li>Typical facility exposure when working with the elderly resident including potential injury or infection. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>See job description</p>
