We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home.</p> <p>About Design Technology at DLR Group</p> <p>DLR Group's Design Technology team consists of diversified discipline technologists made up of Digital Practice Digital Design Digital Services and R&D. Digital Practice is focused on implementation and support of design technology tools for our design teams across DLR Group's integrated design practice. The Digital Design Team builds new tools to support our enterprise and leverages its technical skillset to aid teams in solving complex design problems. Digital Services is focused on the growth of client-facing services through the use of our design technology tools.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>As a DLR Group Computational Design Developer, you will be a creative coder rapidly deploying working prototypes and scalable computational design solutions using modern technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating custom developed design technology solutions to be used in our integrated design practice. This person will focus on developing digital tools to design, review, and augment our existing design processes. Our team is focused on developing a design pipeline from our primary design applications.</p> <p>What you will do:</p> <ul> <li>Champion the Design Technology team across DLR Group </li><li>Collaborate with the digital design team to develop and implement computational design tools for use by DLR Group designers </li><li>Develop gaming objects and user interfaces within Unreal Engine </li><li>Build internal applications and external client-facing applications as needed </li><li>Create prototypes to support R&D efforts and future development initiatives </li><li>Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in the architecture and design industry </li><li>Translate user feedback into innovative software solutions </li><li>Partner with Design Technology leadership to maintain and advance our leading-edge strategy </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Degree in AEC industry, computer science, or a related field </li><li>Ability to write, document, and maintain code collaboratively </li><li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills </li><li>Hands-on experience with GitHub repositories </li><li>Collaborative mindset with an openness to feedback and tool refinement </li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with developing tools for multiple devices </li><li>Understanding of VR, AR, and XR technologies </li><li>Creative problem-solving mindset with a passion for empowering designers </li><li>Knowledge of C++ and Blueprints </li></ul> <p>#LI-DNI</p> <p>DLR Group is an integrated design firm delivering architecture, engineering, interiors, planning, and building optimization for new builds, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects.</p> <p>We are 100% employee-owned: every employee is literally invested in our clients' success.
