The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.</p> <ul> <li>Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan. </li><li>Carries out such additional duties as required or as conditions necessitate. </li><li>Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. </li><li>Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan. </li><li>Carries out such additional duties as required or as conditions necessitate. </li><li>Assists with researching resources for students and families </li><li>Assists with IEP mtgs. </li><li>Utilizes effectively the IEP system. </li><li>Builds rapport with students and develops RtI groups to assist them with identified skills. </li><li>Attends School Social Worker meetings and trainings. </li><li>Learns about the special needs, treatment options, and behavior approaches for students receiving social work as a related services and students participating in RtI. </li><li>Learns to complete Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. </li><li>Gains and understanding of school social work from pre-k thru high school. </li><li>Assists School Social Workers and other building staff in dealing with extreme behaviors and crisis. </li><li>Accompanies School Social Worker on home visits. </li><li>Advocates for students' education, safety and well being. </li><li>Assists with risk assessments and learns to use protocols used by School Social Workers. </li><li>Meets with Field Supervisor and supervising certified School Social Worker as required. </li><li>Assists in communicating with parents/guardians as requested. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Eligible for Field placement as determined by the sending University. </li><li>Eligible to receive the Type 73 Certificate in School Social Work at the completion of the Internship. </li><li>M.S.W. in Social Work or qualifies for M.S.W. by completion of Internship. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>This position requires that the candidate have coursework in education as determined by an M.S.W. program or post M.S.W. program from an accredited university.</p> <p>Certification: State of Illinois certification Type 73 School Services Personnel with Supervisory Endorsement - OR Illinois State Board of Education administrative certificate Type 75.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel.
