<p>This position is part of an ongoing recruitment process within the Department of Health Science and Nursing Department to develop a pool of quali?ed applicants. Quali?ed candidates will be reviewed on a rolling basis and contacted directly by the Director of Clinical Education.</p> <p>This position is a semester-by-semester appointment located in eastern Connecticut.</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking applicants whose primary responsibilities will be to act as an adjunct clinical instructor for the undergraduate 4-year BS of Nursing program. This instructor is responsible for the supervision, instruction, and evaluation of nursing students in the approved clinical agencies and clinical laboratory setting.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Under the guidance and direction of the Nursing Program Director, Clinical Coordinator, and course lead, the adjunct instructor will:</p> <ul> <li>Teach clinical sections for undergraduate nursing students each semester based on clinical experience, in accordance with the approved course description, learning outcomes, and schedule. </li><li>Collaborate with course faculty to supervise pre-licensure nursing students in their clinical settings </li><li>Correlate clinical and simulation education with didactic </li><li>Provide educational opportunities that bene?t students throughout the learning </li><li>Evaluate students' written assignments and clinical </li><li>Participate in on-campus lab or simulation activities with their clinical groups </li><li>Serve as a liaison to clinical agencies </li><li>Apprise each student of their clinical performance on a regular basis and provide constructive feedback. </li><li>Foster critical thinking to complete care for patient </li><li>Facilitate professional relationships with all members of the health care </li><li>Model professional </li><li>Provide clear expectations of outcomes to students within the clinical </li><li>Collaborate with course faculty and the Nursing Simulation Specialist to ful?ll clinical support and educational needs while meeting simulation program outcomes. </li></ul> <p>Required Quali?cations:</p> <ul> <li>Registered Nurse with a current, unencumbered state of CT RN license </li><li>Master's degree or higher in nursing </li><li>3 to 5 years of clinical experience </li><li>Current Clinical experience in one or more of the following areas: </li></ul> <p>o Medical-Surgical/Adult Nursing, Obstetrical Nursing, Geriatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Pediatrics and Family Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing</p> <ul> <li>Experience evaluating student performance in clinical training settings </li><li>Completion of health indicators (MMR, titers, TB status, Hepatitis B, and others as required by </li></ul> <p>clinical affiliations) and CPR certi?cation at the time of employment</p> <ul> <li>Commitment to the Mission and Vision of the Eastern Connecticut State University's Nursing Program </li><li>Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation </li><li>Weekday/Weekend availability for nursing clinical instruction for 6-10 students in diverse healthcare </li></ul> <p>Preferred Quali?cations:</p> <ul> <li>Two or more years of experience teaching undergraduate students in clinical </li><li>Certi?ed Nurse Educator (CNE) Credentials </li><li>Experience managing and directing group clinical training for students in an undergraduate nursing program </li><li>Experience with a wide range of educational strategies </li><li>Pro?ciency in MS Office tools, e-mail, and the Internet along with the ability to quickly learn new applications, including organization-wide information systems and department-speci?c </li><li>Experience in teaching in a skills lab or simulation Application Requirements: </li><li>Resume/Curriculum Vitae </li><li>Cover letter </li><li>Three current professional references </li><li>Day/time availability </li></ul> <p>To apply, please submit via e-mail to Ms. Lindsay Boucher, Nursing Clinical Coordinator at boucherlin@easternct.edu, and cc Dr. Christina Nadeau (Director of Clinical Education) at nadeauchr@easternct.edu.</p>
