<p>Carson-Newman University is a Christian, liberal arts-based University built upon the Lordship of Jesus Christ as evidenced historically and revealed in the Scriptures.</p> <p>Job Title: Professor</p> <p>Department: Biology</p> <p>Reports To: Chair of Biology</p> <p>FLSA Status:</p> <p>Time Requirements: 9 month contract for fall and spring semesters with expectation of additional summer teaching requirements.</p> <p>Summary Description:</p> <p>Faculty member must be well versed in Human Anatomy and Physiology with applicable advanced degrees. Terminal degrees are preferred. Faculty member responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate Anatomy and Physiology courses as well as Gross Anatomy courses including cadaver prosection. In addition, to teaching, the faculty member may also be expected to develop curriculum, assess existing curriculum, advise biology students, and participate in various campus-wide committees as needed.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>As an intentionally Christian academic community, Christian employees are hired to advance the mission of Carson-Newman as expressed in our strategic plan, Acorns to Oaks. </li><li>Teach undergraduate and graduate A&P and Gross Anatomy classes. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities: Assign classes, monitor work, provide feedback on faculty member's work, and encourage engagement in academic enrichment opportunities.</p> <p>Education: Terminal Degree in field (Ph.D, M.D., etc.)</p> <p>Experience: Some experience teaching and/or experience in the medical field</p> <p>Required Skills: Basic computer skills including use of Windows, MS Office, and a thorough understanding of human anatomy and physiology.</p> <p>Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
