<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>We are looking for a dynamic, high-energy Anchor/Reporter to join our morning team. This role is ideal for a take-charge journalist who thrives in a fast-paced, live environment and brings creativity, urgency, and strong editorial judgment to every broadcast.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary Live Desk Anchor during our morning show, delivering breaking news and developing stories with clarity, accuracy, and urgency </li><li>Provide live updates and continuous coverage as stories evolve throughout the broadcast </li><li>Report and produce general assignment stories as needed </li><li>Step into the field as a live reporter as needed, delivering compelling, on-the-ground coverage </li><li>Anchor a one-hour daily ARC (Authentic, Relevant, Community) program following the morning show, focusing on meaningful community-driven content </li><li>Collaborate with producers and newsroom leadership to develop fresh, engaging content and segments </li><li>Contribute innovative ideas to enhance the overall morning show experience </li></ul> <p>Digital & Social Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Actively engage with audiences across digital and social platforms </li><li>Create and contribute content that aligns with current social media trends </li><li>Demonstrate strong digital storytelling skills, including writing for web and posting video content </li><li>Help grow audience engagement through creative, platform-specific strategies </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in live anchoring, reporting, or a similar on-air role </li><li>Strong breaking news instincts and the ability to ad-lib confidently in live situations </li><li>Versatility to handle both in-studio and field reporting assignments </li><li>Excellent storytelling, writing, and communication skills </li><li>A strong understanding of digital platforms and audience engagement strategies </li><li>Energetic, self-motivated, and collaborative mindset </li><li>Passion for community-focused journalism </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <ul> <li>A high-energy, idea-driven journalist who isn't afraid to lead </li><li>Someone who thrives under pressure and excels in unscripted, live moments </li><li>A team player who brings creativity, accountability, and a strong work ethic every day </li></ul> <p>Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
