<p>POSITION TITLE: Fencing Technician</p> <p>COMPANY: G P Roadway Solutions</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Oahu Branch - Rentals</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Manager, Rentals</p> <p>Employment Type: Union</p> <p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES</p> <ol> <li>Fabricate fence panels, including painting welded areas with primer, stretching fence mesh </li></ol> <p>onto panel frame and cutting and notching tubing and/or pipe. Ability to operate a chop saw</p> <p>preferred.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Cleans and repairs fencing materials including straightening bent materials, re-welding </li></ol> <p>panels, changing or refurbishing fence mesh, and cutting down bent fence posts. Able to</p> <p>work with others and communicate effectively when lifting, carrying or otherwise moving</p> <p>material to avoid accidents or injury. Teamwork is essential.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Loads and unloads flatbed trucks with fence materials either manually or by operating a </li></ol> <p>forklift. Able to be forklift certified.</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Keeps the work area (including job sites, trucks and warehouse / yard) clean and organized </li></ol> <p>and returns items to their proper place so as to maintain a safe working environment.</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Installs and removes fencing in the field following operational procedures which </li></ol> <p>involve manually unloading/loading material from trucks and laying out and picking up</p> <p>fencing material. Capable of multiple dexterities, climbing, crouching and bending. Uses</p> <p>Rhino pneumatic post driver, rock drill, compressor, fence pliers, ladders, post pullers, come</p> <p>along, and other required installation / removal tools and equipment.</p> <ol start="6"> <li>Must be able to operate aerial bucket truck. Bucket capacity is 300 pounds with </li></ol> <p>tools, material, and operator. Will need to be able to get certified for fall</p> <p>protection (body harness, lanyard and retractable).</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Installs and removes dust cloth material to and from fence mesh material </li></ol> <p>using "hog rings" fastened with "hog ring pliers".</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Completes a daily work log accurately and timely to track work performed, </li></ol> <p>time spent on the job, and materials used. Must be able to write legibly and concisely so as</p> <p>that others will understand without question or misunderstanding.</p> <ol start="9"> <li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service</p> </li></ol> <p>orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace and the public. Able to</p> <p>communicate with customers and follow instructions as provided by customers</p> <p>PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ol> <li> <p>High school graduate or equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>Spot welding experience preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic math skills and ability to read tape measures.</p> </li><li> <p>Required to read maps, job orders, forms.</p> </li><li> <p>Blueprint reading helpful.</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Hawaii driver's license, clean traffic abstract and ability to meet DOT requirements for non-CDL commercial drivers.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use small hand tools and climb ladders (ladders are rated at 300 pounds including person, tools and material).</p> </li><li> <p>Some knowledge of basic welding skills preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Good interpersonal skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to follow instructions, work independently or with a crew to complete jobs in a timely manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays and weekends, as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to work in all weather conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to pass a background check in order to get security clearance to access military facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to lift varying weights as required for the role.</p> </li></ol> <p>Note: This is a union position.
