<p>The Operational Communication Systems Coordinator is responsible for the strategic oversight, implementation, and continuous improvement of communication systems that support clinical and operational workflows across the healthcare organization. This role ensures that communication platforms (e.g., secure messaging, paging, alert systems, nurse call, VoIP, and collaboration tools) are reliable, secure, and aligned with Tamarack Health's mission and vision.</p> <p>This position is located onsite in Ashland, WI.</p> <p>Responsibilities/Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strategic Leadership:</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and execute a roadmap for communication systems that aligns with clinical and operational goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with emergency management, nursing, IS and medical staff, and administration to assess communication needs and implement solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with Administration and Leaders on Emergency Preparedness to build confidence in managing emergencies and recovery.</p> </li><li> <p>System Oversight & Optimization:</p> </li><li> <p>Actively participate in the deployment, integration, and maintenance of communication platforms (e.g., Clinician Communication (pagers, etc.), Twiage, Vital Communications, R5, Informacast, EMResource, Cisco).</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor system performance, user adoption, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Operational Excellence:</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and resolve communication bottlenecks that impact patient care or staff efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and enforce policies and procedures for system use, escalation protocols, and downtime contingencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Training & Support:</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff on communication tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a liaison between end-users and technical teams to ensure user-friendly solutions</p> </li><li> <p>Data & Reporting:</p> </li><li> <p>Investigate and analyze communication system usage and incident data to drive improvements.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide regular reports to leadership on system performance, user satisfaction, and ROI.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and/or training in related field (e.g., Process Improvement, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Nursing). </li><li>Emergency Preparedness training (preferred) </li><li>5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, IT, or clinical communications. </li></ul> <p>Professional Skills & Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills. </li><li>Preferred Skills: </li><li>Experience with platforms like Epic, R5, Cisco, Microsoft Teams, or similar. </li><li>Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certifications. </li><li>Familiarity with clinical workflows and hospital operations. </li><li>Proven leadership in managing enterprise communication systems in a healthcare setting. </li><li>Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare compliance standards. </li></ul>
