<p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>Spark the imaginations of our school age child care students as you share your passions, hobbies, interests, or career with children ages 5-12. In collaboration with the SACC Director, choose a topic you love and prepare and deliver a 45-60-minute enrichment presentation.</p> <ul> <li>Flexible schedule during the school year, 1-2 days per week </li></ul> <p>Employment Type: Part-time (less than 30 hours per week, not eligible for the Y's benefit package)</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Develop and obtain approval of a written lesson plan to ensure a quality presentation prior to any topic presentation. The list of topics is limited. A few ideas could include home alone classes, languages, fitness, snack making class, music, culture, photography, science, sign-language, sports, team building, theater, etc.) </li><li>Coordinate and implement an enrichment activity that fit the needs and interests of the children in attendance while involving them with "hands-on" experiences. </li><li>Provide a warm, caring atmosphere for the children while treating all children equally with dignity and respect. </li><li>Ensure that the enrichment activity maintains safe conditions at all times. </li><li>Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff and children which includes: </li><li>Adhere to policies related to boundaries with staff and children. </li><li>Attend required abuse risk management training. </li><li>Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. </li><li>Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS AND TRAINING</p> <ul> <li>Must possess adequate knowledge of the subject and possess the ability to teach this topic to a group of children. </li><li>Past experience teaching the subject matter preferred. </li><li>Must be mature and be able to relate well to children, adults, and school/site staff. </li><li>Reliable transportation to make your way to a variety of SACC program sites in the greater Green Bay area. </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Building Relationships - Connect people to the Y's cause by developing inclusive relationships and collaboration. Assist members in becoming more connected to the Y and build small communities. </li><li>Communication and Influence - Listens and expresses self effectively and in a way that engages, inspires and builds commitment to the Y's cause. </li><li>Program Management - ensures program goals are met and intended impact occurs </li><li>Developing Self & Others - develops self and supports others, both formally and informally, to achieve their highest potential. </li><li>Emotional Maturity - How we understand and conduct ourselves impacts our relationships. Demonstrate ability to understand and emotions effectively in all situations. </li><li>Advancing Our Mission- As a cause driven leader you will support the Y, its members, participants, and staff by living the Y's values of CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT, and RESPONSIBILITY in all interactions and aspects of job performance and demonstrate the desire to serve others and fulfill community needs. </li><li>Safety - Adhere to and enforce safety policies and procedures for the association. </li></ul> <p>This job description represents the major functions of the job but is not intended to be all inclusive.
