Position Athletic Department / Sports Information Graduate Assistant Location Main Campus Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time Description</p> <p>Athletic Department/Sports Information Graduate Assistant</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Sports Information Graduate Assistant supports the athletics department by assisting with</p> <p>media relations, communications, and promotion of the university's athletic programs while</p> <p>pursuing a graduate degree. The GA may also assist the Athletics Department and Athletic</p> <p>Director as needed. Participation in institutional chapel services is expected, reflecting the</p> <p>university's values and mission.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Media Relations & Communications</p> <ul> <li>Assist with press releases, game notes, statistics, and media guides </li><li>Maintain athletics website, social media platforms, and digital content </li><li>Coordinate interviews, photo/video coverage, and media requests </li><li>Track and report athletic accomplishments, records, and milestones </li></ul> <p>Game & Event Operations</p> <ul> <li>Support game-day operations, including statistics, announcements, and media </li></ul> <p>coordination</p> <ul> <li>Assist in organizing athletic events, award ceremonies, and special promotions </li><li>Work with student-athletes, coaches, and staff to provide accurate media information </li></ul> <p>Administrative & Departmental Support</p> <ul> <li>Assist the Athletics Department and Athletic Director with projects, communications, and </li></ul> <p>administrative tasks as needed</p> <ul> <li>Maintain databases, filing systems, and archival records </li><li>Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities </li></ul> <p>Department Athletics</p> <p>Building/Location Maxwell Center - Main Campus</p> <p>Supervisor Sports Information Director</p> <p>Months Per Year 12</p> <p>Hours Per Week 20</p> <p>Benefits Tuition and Housing</p> <p>Faith & Community Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Attend and actively participate in institutional chapel services </li><li>Support and promote the university's mission, values, and faith-based community </li></ul> <p>initiatives</p> <p>Additional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director or Athletic Director </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED MINIMUM Qualifications</p> <p>According to Ohio Christian University employment policy, all employees must possess a strong</p> <p>Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community Lifestyle</p> <p>Statement.</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution </li><li>Acceptance into a graduate program at the university </li><li>Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills </li><li>Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed </li><li>Willingness to participate in chapel and faith-based programming </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in sports information, journalism, or media production </li><li>Knowledge of NCCAA rules and athletics operations </li><li>Proficiency in social media, Adobe Creative Suite, or video editing </li></ul> <p>LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER</p> <p>As a religious educational institution operating under the auspices of The Churches of Christ in Christian Union, Ohio</p> <p>Christian University is permitted and reserves the right to prefer employees on the basis of religion (42 U.S.C.,</p> <p>Sections 2000e-1 and 2000e-2).The above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work</p> <p>being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills</p> <p>required for the position.
