In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.</p> <p>What you will be doing</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Department of Radiology and Imaging is seeking a talented Research Software Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will support cutting-edge research projects through expert software engineering, translating conceptual research ideas into deployable applications, collaborating with external engineering partners, and maintaining critical compute infrastructure.</p> <p>Reports To</p> <p>Kevin Koch, PhD, Vice Chair of Research</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement software solutions that transform research concepts into production-ready applications that can translate to clinical evaluation and practice </li><li>Work with industrial collaborators to translate technologies into commercial applications </li><li>Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to understand requirements and provide technical solutions </li><li>Maintain and optimize research computing infrastructure, including virtualized environments </li><li>Create efficient code bases that enable rapid prototyping and testing of research ideas </li><li>Document software systems and processes for knowledge transfer and reproducibility </li><li>Support the deployment and integration of machine learning models within clinical workflows </li><li>Participate in code reviews and implement best practices for software development </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field </li><li>Demonstrable industrial engineering experience within a professional business environment </li><li>Strong proficiency in Python programming </li></ul> <p>Non-Discrimination Policy</p> <p>Hospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
