Economic success and corporate responsibility are inextricably linked as part of this process.</p> <p>Symrise - always inspiring more…</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Maintenance Technician supports the maintenance operations within a beverage manufacturing environment by performing repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on production equipment. This position works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure equipment runs efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring product quality and safety. The Maintenance Technician also assists with general facility maintenance tasks and follows safety protocols and regulatory requirements.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and emergency repairs on production equipment, including can fillers, bottle fillers, bag-in-box fillers, tunnel pasteurizers, boilers, and air compressors. </li><li>Preventive Maintenance: Follow a preventive maintenance schedule to inspect and maintain equipment, ensuring its longevity and minimizing unplanned downtime. </li><li>Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues with production equipment, including boilers and air compressors, to ensure continuous operation. </li><li>Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, proper PPE usage, and compliance with OSHA and food safety standards. </li><li>Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service logs, inspections, parts used, and repairs made. </li><li>Collaboration: Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to identify and implement improvements for equipment efficiency and production reliability. </li><li>Housekeeping: Ensure the work area is clean and well-organized, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. </li><li>Support Production: Assist with production-related tasks during equipment changeovers and downtime, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing production delays. </li><li>Continuous Learning: Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of equipment, maintenance procedures, and safety practices. </li><li>Inventory Management: Assist with managing the inventory of spare parts and supplies, notifying the supervisor when stock needs replenishment. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Experience Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or mechanical systems is preferred. </li><li>Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the beverage or food industry. </li><li>Certifications: Knowledge of and certification in equipment maintenance related to boilers, air compressors, or other relevant systems. Specific certifications in Georgia for boiler operation or air compressor maintenance are a plus. </li><li>Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements such as OSHA standards, GMP, and HACCP. </li><li>Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to heat or cold. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Technical Skills: Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems used in beverage production, including boilers and air compressors. </li><li>Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify issues with equipment and take corrective action to minimize downtime. </li><li>Attention to Detail: Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed accurately and in compliance with safety and quality standards. </li><li>Safety Awareness: Thorough understanding of workplace safety practices, including lockout/tagout and PPE usage, and the ability to enforce them. </li><li>Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report issues and coordinate maintenance efforts. </li><li>Time Management: Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. </li></ul> <p>Become part of our open and transparent culture.
