The core Success Factors include:</p> <p>Instill Trust and Value Differences</p> <p>Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Legislative Responsibilities</p> <p>Create and maintain organized files for all legislative and miscellaneous matters</p> <p>Request and compile internal opinions/positions/comments on proposed bills that may affect Brown University Health; initiate and track follow-up communications</p> <p>Recirculate amended bills with summaries of changes and request updated feedback</p> <p>Collaborate with subject matter experts to assess legislative impact and strategy</p> <p>Track all relevant bills that Government Relations follows into an internal database including final outcomes (e.g., pass/ fail/held for further study/Governor's action)</p> <p>Research and analyze historical legislation; compare with current bills and summarize key differences</p> <p>Monitor Rhode Island and Massachusetts Legislative Calendars for all hearings and floor sessions</p> <p>Provide timely analysis and historical context on upcoming bills</p> <p>Assist with preparation of testimony letters for hearings and distribute to elected officials and Legislative Committees</p> <p>Create final legislative report for Brown University Health</p> <p>Analyze emerging legislation</p> <p>Attend state and local Committee hearings</p> <p>Support advocacy campaigns</p> <p>Work with internal communications team to draft memos and updating on events</p> <p>Administrative Coordination Responsibilities</p> <p>Coordinate and attend meetings and site visits with state and federal officials</p> <p>Prepare PowerPoint presentations for internal and external stakeholders</p> <p>File monthly and quarterly State of Rhode Island Lobbying Reports</p> <p>Gather and maintain data for Federal Lobbying Reports</p> <p>Assist with additional miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in political science, public administration or a related field preferred.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Prior experience in government, public policy or political settings (preferred)</p> <p>Strong knowledge of state and federal legislative process (RI and/or MA preferred)</p> <p>Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills</p> <p>Excellent writing and communication skills</p> <p>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Capable of working independently</p> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legislative tracking tools (preferred)</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:</p> <p>None.</p> <p>Pay Range:</p> <p>$25.01-$41.26</p> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>Brown University Health is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a work environment free from all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment.</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>BHCS 15 LaSalle Square - 15 LaSalle Square Providence, Rhode Island 02903</p> <p>Work Type:</p> <p>M-F 8:00am-5:00pm (variable)</p> <p>Work Shift:</p> <p>Day</p> <p>Daily Hours:</p> <p>8 hours</p> <p>Driving Required:</p> <p>No</p>
