Our service-oriented mission is in action every day, whether it's by providing care in our facilities, training the next generation of health care professionals, or serving others through international outreach.</p> <p>Campus Overview</p> <p>Soin Medical Center</p> <ul> <li>Soin Medical Center has been serving residents of Greene, Western Clark, Eastern Montgomery, and Miami counties since 2012. </li><li>Conveniently located off I-675 in Beavercreek. </li><li>Provides a variety of health care services and is home to 4 accredited Centers of Excellence including hernia and robotic surgery. </li><li>Soin is currently licensed for 125 beds which will increase after the expansion completion in the Fall of this year. </li><li>In 2020, Soin received an "A" from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States. </li><li>Accredited by the American College of Emergency Physicians as a Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department. </li><li>We partner with local farms in Greene County to provide fresh produce to employees, patients, and their families. </li><li>Received 4 Star Baby-Friendly Hospital status by the Ohio Hospital Association. </li><li>Soin received several awards from Healthgrades: </li><li>Patient Safety Excellence Award (2017-2019) </li><li>Outstanding Patient Experience Award (2017-2019) </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities & Requirements</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Under the supervision of the physician, APP and registered nurse:</p> <ul> <li>Assists in providing care and performing office functions. </li><li>Give instructions to patients as instructed by doctor/nurse. </li><li>Takes blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respiration. </li><li>Assists patients any time need is apparent or as directed by the nurse or physician(s). </li><li>Assists with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by licensed nurse or physician(s). </li><li>Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of physician(s) and nurse and for which training has been given. </li><li>Keeps medical records in accordance to procedures and forms. </li><li>Follows principles of medical ethics for medical assistant. </li><li>Keep rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies. </li><li>May be requested to substitute for other office personnel and conduct responsibilities of receptionist/front desk. </li><li>Any other assigned duties by physician(s), nurses or manager. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required Licenses Credentialed Medical Assistant:Successful attainment and retention of CCMA, CMA (AAMA) or NCMA certification or RMA plus documented completion of a Medical Assisting program through an accredited institution of higher learning. Medical Assistant:Within 15 months from date of hire, continued employment will require successful attainment and retention of one of the following certification/registration CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, RMA (through AMT) or RMA (through ARMA) plus documented completion of a Medical Assisting program through an accredited institution of higher learning.Basic Life Support certification required for MA and CMA. Required SkillsAble to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments and publicAble to follow direction and accept ordersAble to perform repetitive tasksAble to be patient, courteous, and tactfulAble to work under time constraints, multi-task, and work autonomously with little directionAble to maintain confidentialityPractical knowledge in the following areas is preferred: examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, use of electronic medical records, safety hazards and precautions, confidentiality/discretion. Minimum Work Experience1-year clinical experience in a medical/physician office setting preferredExperience with use of electronic medical records preferred. Medical Assistant:May be hired with six months of experience as a STNA, Nursing Assistant or PCA but are not able to administer medication or enter Epic orders until competency demonstration has occurred. Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalentGraduate of an accredited medical assisting program preferred</p>
