For Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, please contact Megan Jones at megan.jones@nebraska.gov</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the implementation of all departmental and institutional policies and procedures to </li></ul> <p>ensure effective security, sanitation, and case management functions within the housing unit.</p> <ul> <li>Chair the Unit Classification Committee and the Unit Disciplinary Committee to ensure proper </li></ul> <p>classification, behavior management, and disciplinary procedures are consistent across the</p> <p>institution.</p> <ul> <li>Supervise, evaluate, and mentor subordinate team members to support efficient unit operation and </li></ul> <p>continuity of services, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage.</p> <ul> <li>Ensure grievances are investigated and resolved in accordance with defined procedures and </li></ul> <p>timelines.</p> <p>Requirements/Qualifications:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or a related field and one year of corrections experience, including supervisory experience; OR Associate's degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field and three years of corrections experience, including supervisory experience; OR five years of corrections experience, including supervisory experience. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in NDCS Custody and/or Unit Management. Leadership must be consistent with Department's mission and vision. Bilingual English/Spanish desired and assessed.</p> <p>Other: Transcripts required prior to appointment. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test.
