<p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>TRIO SSS Peer Tutors provide academic support to program participants in a variety of subjects. Tutors are responsible for assisting students in understanding course material, developing study strategies, and strengthening academic confidence. This role plays a vital part in promoting student success, retention, and a supportive TRIO community.</p> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions in assigned subject areas.</p> <p>Assist students in developing effective study skills, test-taking strategies, and time management.</p> <p>Review class material, assignments, and exam preparation with students.</p> <p>Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress as required.</p> <p>Attend training sessions, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development provided by TRIO SSS.</p> <p>Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, academic integrity, and responsibility.</p> <p>Refer students to additional campus resources when appropriate.</p> <p>Other duties as assigned by TRIO staff.</p> <p>FEDERAL WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT</p> <p>YES -- Federal Work Study eligibility required (check your 2025/26 Financial Aid Award Offer)</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Work Study ONLY</p> <p>Must be a current undergraduate student in good academic standing.</p> <p>Earned a minimum B+ or higher in the course(s) you wish to tutor.</p> <p>Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.</p> <p>Dependable, patient, and committed to helping peers succeed academically.</p> <p>Prior tutoring, mentoring, or teaching experience is preferred but not required.</p> <p>CONTACT</p> <p>Khazema Rauf (khazema.rauf@shu.edu)</p> <p>Seton Hall University is committed to programs of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and the principles of affirmative action.</p> <p>Advertised: 20 Aug 2025 Eastern Daylight Time</p> <p>Applications close: 12 Sep 2025 Eastern Daylight Time</p>
