<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Nurse Educator - 4th Floor Medical Telemetry and 5th Floor Surgical Telemetry</p> <p>Full-Time, primarily 8a - 4:30p; shift may vary based on departmental needs.</p> <p>Independently functions as an instructor, coordinator, and/or designer of a variety of health-related programs focusing on clinical and patient care staff education.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Coordinate and facilitate orientation/onboarding for new employees, agency staff, and internal transfers.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan, implement, and assess initial and ongoing staff competencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide classroom instruction and skills training to support clinical education and development.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as an active member on relevant councils and committees.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain flexibility to support night and weekend shifts as needed.</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Certification in professional development or other nursing specialty required within 5 years of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>For certain areas such as Birthplace, Surgical and/or Emergency Departments certain certifications may be required upon hire or within a specific time frame.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited institution preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous classroom teaching experience preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of adult learning principles.</p> </li><li> <p>Writing, group presentation, individual counseling, test development, program planning and implementation skills.</p> </li><li> <p>ACLS and/or PALS provider status preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel.
