<p>Area Sales Manager - Western USA & Canada - Valve Controls and Actuators</p> <p>Deciding on a new career within Valmet can be an exciting prospect. Apply your expertise in new ways to continue on the path of growth as an Area Sales Manager on our North American Market Area Team.</p> <p>We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager to manage, lead, and expand the sales of our industrial valve controls and actuators portfolio across North America. This role acts as both a technical and sales asset leader and is expected to support and grow the sales of our trusted brands-Stonel, Valvcon, Neles, and Jamesbury. Reporting to the Director of North America for VCA Sales, this role will focus on managing channel partners, driving OEM engagement, and developing strategic relationships with engineering firms and end user stakeholders.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and managing channel activities for Valmet Flow Control's valve control and actuator products across a designated territory-primarily the Western United States and Western Canada. Your role will include:</p> <ul> <li>Developing and executing a strategic regional sales plan to expand market share and meet revenue targets. </li><li>Identifying and cultivating new business opportunities across industrial sectors and project-driven markets. </li><li>Building and maintaining strong relationships with channel partners, OEMs, EPCs, and end-users. </li><li>Leading the full sales cycle-from prospecting and technical consultation to contract negotiation and project delivery. </li><li>Collaborating with internal teams and global project resources to align strategy and execution. </li><li>Conducting ongoing market analysis to monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and pricing dynamics. </li><li>Communicating market insights to sales and product management to inform growth strategies. </li><li>Ensuring channel partners are well-trained and equipped to represent Valmet's offerings effectively. </li><li>Supporting OEM engagement through outreach, relationship development, and integration of Valmet products into their solutions. </li><li>Preparing accurate sales forecasts and budgets, and adjusting strategies to optimize performance. </li></ul> <p>To excel in this role, you'll need to:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as both a technical expert and strategic leader in your territory, driving commercial success. </li><li>Contribute to the development of pricing, distribution, and customer retention strategies. </li><li>Provide coaching and support to partners and internal teams on Valmet's products, services, and sales processes. </li><li>Promote sales techniques and standards that help the team achieve their targets. </li><li>Live and work within the Western USA to maintain close proximity to customers and partners. </li><li>Be comfortable with regular travel (approximately 50%) to engage with clients, attend industry events, and support sales initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>To succeed in this role, you will need:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial automation, or a related technical field (preferred). </li><li>5+ years of B2B sales experience in industrial automation, flow control, or related sectors. </li><li>Strong technical knowledge of valve control and actuator products. </li><li>Proven success in managing complex sales cycles and project-based selling. </li><li>Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. </li><li>Strategic thinker with strong networking capabilities. </li><li>Willingness to travel up to 50%. </li></ul> <p>We offer</p> <p>We offer a dynamic work environment that values innovation and suits development-minded people who enjoy working in a fast-paced and energetic setting.
