<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides assistance to the occupational therapist in developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment, procedures, and related activities for direct patient care.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li> <p>Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Competent Services: Provides skilled occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups. Conducts treatments according to professional standards (AOTA).</p> </li><li> <p>Productivity Standards: Meets established productivity standards for the department or service line.</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation and Billing: Keeps thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies. Completes patient billing accurately and promptly.</p> </li><li> <p>Communication: Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals. Ensures smooth operations and optimal use of rehabilitation services. Communicates patient assessments, progress, and concerns with the occupational therapist.</p> </li><li> <p>Continuing Education: Participates in and promotes continuing education opportunities for self and staff, seeking new learning opportunities according to licensure requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Quality Improvement: Engages in quality improvement processes, including safe equipment use, improving clinical outcomes, patient access, patient experience and all aspects of the Intermountain Operating Model. Participates in utilization review audits.</p> </li><li> <p>Program Development and Marketing: Contributes to program development and marketing strategies to grow the occupational therapy program to achieve department goals.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li> <p>Quality Improvement</p> </li><li> <p>Verbal and Written Communication</p> </li><li> <p>Patient Engagement</p> </li><li> <p>Critical Thinking</p> </li><li> <p>Time Management</p> </li><li> <p>Care Planning</p> </li><li> <p>Compassion</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Current Occupational Therapist Assistant license in the states where you work.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Computer skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess skill sets and experience with target population of job setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. </li><li>Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. </li><li>Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. </li><li>Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. </li><li>Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) </li><li>May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time. </li></ul> <p>Location:</p> <p>Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center</p> <p>Work City:</p> <p>Murray</p> <p>Work State:</p> <p>Utah</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours:</p> <p>0</p> <p>The hourly range for this position is listed below.
