Since 1954, Woodgrain is proud to be family owned and operated.</p> <p>Position Overview: The General Manager is responsible for the overall facilitation and management of the branch's employees, process, and operations. With full P&L responsibility for the location, the General Manager will develop, implement, control, and adjust market-specific plans to implement the company's growth strategy, while simultaneously leading a management team to achieve sales and profitability targets for the branch.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities:</p> <p>Results Management</p> <ul> <li>Achieves consistent positive results in Safety, Sales, Operations, and Service. </li><li>Demonstrates effective budgeting, goal-setting, planning, coordination, and execution. </li><li>Communicates company, branch, and individual performance to all associates on regular basis. </li></ul> <p>Strategic Change Management</p> <ul> <li>Leads the branch transformation process. </li><li>Instills a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of business. </li><li>Communicates workflow expectations, priorities, and progress to all warehouse associates. </li><li>Develops and implements a Branch Improvement Plan - A branch SWOT analysis and activities to address them. </li></ul> <p>Sales & Marketing Management</p> <ul> <li>Drives organic sales growth by successful execution of the sales planning process. </li><li>Develops and constantly refreshes a deep knowledge of the competitive landscape. </li><li>Implements customer and market- based service level agreements with the goal of leading the market. </li></ul> <p>Human Resource Management</p> <ul> <li>Develops and implements branch workforce (staffing) plans to include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. </li><li>Develops and implements branch succession plans and associated activities with the goal of providing career advancement opportunities to our best talent. </li><li>Manages a group of subordinate manages who will supervise an employee population between 15 to150 employees per branch. </li><li>Implements effective interviewing, assessment and selection techniques to identify the best available talent. </li><li>Manages performance through effective goal-setting, timely feedback and prompt corrective action, if needed. </li><li>Provides a clear vision, effective training, targeted coaching and high-potential mentoring. </li><li>Builds a culture of high performance and high engagement. </li><li>Other duties as described by manager. </li></ul> <p>Role Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in managerial assignments with P&L accountability for sales and operations within the distribution industry. </li><li>Must have business acumen to create and understand financial statements, branch budgets, and technical journals. </li><li>High school diploma /GED with 6+ years of experience REQUIRED; Bachelor's degree preferred. </li><li>Successful track record with leading teams in sales and operations. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of branch operations. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Additionally, the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.</p> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
