<p>Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and managing all safety-related initiatives across our organization to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations. This role plays a critical part in cultivating a culture of safety by developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs. The Safety Manager partners closely with senior leadership to align and standardize safety practices across all business units, ensuring consistency and operational excellence. This position also serves as a key resource for safety training, incident investigation, risk assessment, and continuous improvement efforts aimed at reducing workplace hazards and promoting employee well-being</p> <p>Essential Job functions/ Duties:</p> <p>Regulatory Compliance & Documentation</p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations. </li><li>Develop and implement environmental health and safety programs as required. </li><li>Maintain and update required safety documentation, including: OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Emergency Action Plans (EAP), Hazard Communication (HazCom), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Workplace Violence Prevention policies, and other as needed. </li></ul> <p>Safety Training & Education</p> <ul> <li>Design and manage the annual safety training program across business units, ensuring alignment with OSHA standards. </li><li>Facilitate training on essential topics such as: emergency preparedness, workplace violence prevention, heat illness prevention, hearing conservation, respirator use, forklift operation, fleet safety, first aid/CPR certification </li><li>Ensure managers and supervisors are equipped to deliver safety training using standardized resources </li></ul> <p>Incident Management & Risk Mitigation</p> <ul> <li>Conduct thorough investigations of workplace accidents (property and fleet related), injuries, and near misses to identify root causes and corrective actions. </li><li>Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents across all worksites. </li><li>Collaborate with third-party safety vendors , HR, and workers' compensation carriers to manage claims and investigations. </li><li>Lead periodic internal facility inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective measures </li></ul> <p>Safety Program Oversight & Continuous Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Monitor and enforce internal safety controls in alignment with corporate policies. </li><li>Identify and communicate safety risks to leadership and business units. </li><li>Collaborate with senior management to develop, implement, and standardize safety policies and procedures. </li><li>Serve as a corporate liaison to align business units with organizational safety goals and compliance initiatives. </li><li>Develop and maintain safety metrics, reports, and trends. </li><li>Conduct safety surveys as needed. </li><li>Establish, mentor, and provide guidance to the safety committee or location safety liaisons as needed. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Health & Compliance for Specific Locations</p> <ul> <li>Oversee hazardous waste and toxic waste disposal and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. </li><li>Maintain documentation and reporting related to environmental health and safety. </li><li>Communicate safety and environmental policies during management meetings and audits. </li></ul> <p>Audits, Reporting & Special Projects</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and lead third-party audits related to workers' compensation, liability, and fleet safety. </li><li>Prepare and manage safety audit schedules, documentation, and payments. </li><li>Support process improvement initiatives related to safety and compliance. </li></ul> <p>Perform other duties assigned to support the effective functioning of the safety program.</p> <p>The compensation range for this position will depend on where you reside.</p> <p>Valencia, California</p> <p>$ 91,000 - $126,000</p> <p>Visalia, California</p> <p>$83,000 - $114,000</p> <p>Ontario, California</p> <p>$85,000 - $117,000</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications (Education, Certifications/Licenses, and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>5- 10 years' experience in manufacturing environment. </li><li>Bachelor's degree preferred in Occupational Safety and Health, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or related field. </li><li>A valid driver's license required </li><li>Safety professional certified through BCSP or OSHA education centers preferred. </li><li>Deep understanding of OSHA and Cal/OSHA Regulations, waste management, environmental compliance and other applicable laws and regulations. </li><li>Ability to stay current with evolving safety laws and quickly integrate changes into company policies. </li><li>Ability to travel 20-40% using company provided vehicle. </li><li>Experience with risk assessment techniques, and loss control strategies, accident/incident investigation procedures and root cause analysis. </li><li>Ability to design and implement safety policies, training programs, and compliance systems. </li><li>Ability to lead safety initiatives, supervise safety, and influence a safety mindset culture. </li><li>Strong oral, written, and non-verbal communication skills to effectively engage a multicultural workforce. </li><li>Capable of identify, prioritize program requirements, managing multiple safety initiatives, audits, and compliance deadlines simultaneously. </li><li>Analytical and problem-Solving skills. </li><li>Ability to respond to incidents and emergencies with sound judgment and timely corrective actions. </li><li>Ability to build and foster collaborative and professional relationships with internal and external clients </li><li>Possesses basic computer knowledge (Outlook, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel). </li></ul> <p>"Actual salary/hourly wages rates are determined upon a variety of factors such as level of experience, skill, education and/or certifications; location and position pay range; and organizational internal equity factors."</p> <p>Well, what is this job really about?</p> <p>We are looking for an individual who values hard work, fresh ideas and a commitment to excellence.
