<p>You will be a member of our mechanical department and your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>May work independently or with other ME's, depending on project size </li><li>Execute all tasks necessary to complete the engineering on a project from conceptual design through execution </li><li>Perform heating and cooling load calculations </li><li>Perform mass energy balance calculations </li><li>Perform drainage and line loss calculations </li><li>Equipment sizing and selection </li><li>Develop Mechanical / Utility equipment and construction specifications </li><li>Develop P&ID's, equipment layout plans, plant / process utility piping (steam, hydronic, CA) distribution plans, and system details </li><li>P&ID design & drafting </li><li>Size and develop layouts for ductwork and piping plans </li><li>Controls functional description development </li><li>Create equipment schedules </li><li>Assist with the development of the building management system (BMS) controls, details, and plans with electrical and controls engineers </li><li>Provide cost estimation and scheduling to PMs </li><li>Present engineering findings to client </li><li>Code reviews for HVAC/plumbing/fire protection designs </li><li>Building code familiarity, compliance & review </li><li>Insurance carrier requirements - familiarity & review </li><li>Perform mechanical system design development and coordinating with other internal and external team members </li><li>Bid package: equipment and sub-contractor - bid list, scope of work, milestone schedule </li><li>Bid Review </li><li>Vendor and Sub-contractor selection </li><li>Vendor shop inspection / FAT </li><li>Create project documents such as calculations, reports, and construction drawings and specifications, etc. </li><li>Perform construction administration in the form of submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits to verify construction scope is proceeding per the intent of the design </li><li>Discipline lead for commissioning activities </li><li>Disciple lead for efficiency improvements or existing system troubleshooting </li><li>Research mechanical / utility materials and best practices </li><li>Provide coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group when directed by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Required Education Skills and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field </li><li>Work experience in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics </li><li>Work experience with utility systems (Boilers, Chillers, Compressed Air) designs and specifications. </li><li>Work experience performing calculations in areas of energy, drainage, line loss, etc. </li><li>Experience working with computer operations for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) </li><li>Relevant work experience in an industrial manufacturing setting preferred </li><li>Strong technical writing and communication skills </li><li>Travel to customer project sites for review, audit, and meetings, estimated 35-50% </li></ul> <p>About Us</p> <p>We plan, design, engineer, and build food plants for major brands across the country and the world.
