<p>CITY OF MARTINSBURG</p> <p>TEMPORARY PART-TIME POLICE SYSTEMS OPERATOR</p> <p>The City of Martinsburg is now accepting applications for a temporary, part-time Police Systems Operator.</p> <p>Graduation from high school or a GED equivalent and general office experience are required, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. This temporary position, typically working 16 to 20 hours per week, will be for a period of six (6) months. The position may be extended beyond six (6) months based on workload and departmental needs.</p> <p>The successful candidate must be proficient in data entry. Some knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, and techniques-including evidence and lost/found property maintenance and disposition practices-is preferred. The ability to learn applicable laws, ordinances, and departmental rules and regulations is required.</p> <p>The Police Department Systems Operator establishes and maintains police records systems. Duties include, but are not limited to: processing all police reports; generating and maintaining computerized evidence room files; acting as records custodian for all computerized departmental documents; compiling, composing, editing, posting, and generating correspondence, reports, and memoranda; and maintaining dispatch documents and records. The position also prepares and generates information for statistical operations of the department and/or reporting to state and federal government agencies.</p> <p>Confidentiality is essential. The ability to effectively interact with the public is required.</p> <p>The starting rate for this position is $17.75 per hour. As a part time role, this position is not eligible for benefits.
