Join our dynamic team and enjoy all the benefits we offer; 2 weeks paid vacation, 13 paid holidays, sign-on bonus, day 1 health/dental/vision insurance, and 401K matching.</p> <p>LOCATION: Frankfort, IN</p> <p>This posting represents a position on 1st shift.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Position Title:</p> <p>Quality Control & Metallurgy Technician</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Quality Control Department</p> <p>FLSA Status:</p> <p>Hourly</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Examines and tests metal samples to determine physical properties.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Conducts microscopic examinations of metals and alloys.</p> </li><li> <p>Cuts and mounts metallurgical samples.</p> </li><li> <p>Polishes and/or etches metal specimens.</p> </li><li> <p>Photographs samples.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs quality checks/tests on product to ensure product conforms to industry and customer specifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Tests samples in pressure devices, acid baths, and other apparatus to determine strength, hardness, elasticity, toughness, torque, or other properties of metal.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure safety standards are adhered to at all times.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and procedures or work instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Certified and able to operate mobile equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong math skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Microsoft office products, Google Suite, and other in-house programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be willing to work overtime or other shifts, as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with and supports the entire quality team.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <p>HS Diploma is preferred, but not required. AS degree is a plus.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>1-3 years related work experience is desirable, but not obligatory.</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Work is normally performed in an office / lab environment, with limited physical effort required. However, must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and endure frequent bending and standing to file documentation.</p>
