This role\nis designed to unblock our Executive Team from operational security and\ninfrastructure tasks. You will own the stability of our systems, lead the\ntechnical execution of our SOC 2 Type II compliance, manage our Global\nTechnical Operations and DBA teams<\/b>, and act as the financial steward of our\ninfrastructure.</p> <p><\/p></p> <p>The Mandate: "B-SMART" Operations<\/b></p> <p><\/p></p> <p>At seoClarity, our Ops team lives by the B-SMART<\/b> framework.\nYou will not just "manage servers"; you will own these six pillars of\nexcellence:</p> <p><\/p></p> <ul> <li>B -\n BUDGETS:<\/b> Act as the Financial Owner of our infrastructure. You will\n proactively negotiate contracts with data centers, hardware vendors, and\n SaaS providers. You will audit utilization rates to ensure we aren't\n paying for idle capacity and treat every dollar of company capital as your\n own. </li></ul> <p><\/li></p> <ul> <li>S -\n SECURITY & COMPLIANCE:<\/b> Act as the Operational SOC 2 Lead<\/b>.\n Automate evidence gathering, enforce Zero Trust policies, and serve as the\n technical point of contact for auditors so the CISO doesn't have to. </li></ul> <p><\/li></p> <ul> <li>M -\n MONITORING:<\/b> Move us from "Reactive" to\n "Proactive." Configure deep observability tools that alert us to\n anomalies before<\/i> they become outages. </li></ul> <p><\/li></p> <ul> <li>A -\n AUTOMATION (Ansible):<\/b> Eliminate manual toil. You must be an Ansible\n expert.<\/b> You will write the playbooks that define our infrastructure as\n code, ensuring that configuration management is automated, repeatable, and\n version-controlled. </li></ul> <p><\/li></p> <ul> <li>R -\n REDUNDANCY:<\/b> Ensure 99.99% availability. Design and test failover\n strategies to satisfy Business Continuity Plan (BCP) requirements. </li></ul> <p><\/li></p> <ul> <li>T -\n TESTING:<\/b> Never break production. Enforce strict Change Management\n protocols for every infrastructure update. </li></ul> <p><\/li><\/ul></p> <p>Leadership & Vendor Management<\/b></p> <p><\/p></p> <ul> <li>The\n Technical Commander:<\/b> You will manage our existing outsourced DBA\n and MSP teams<\/b>. You are the "Brain"; they are the\n "Hands." You will set their priorities, review their execution,\n and hold them accountable to strict SLAs. </li></ul> <p><\/li></p> <ul> <li>Global\n Team Leadership:<\/b> You will lead and mentor our offshore Technical\n Operations support team<\/b>. You will design the workflows and SOPs that\n allow them to handle L1/L2 support (infrastructure alerts, access\n requests), ensuring you are free to focus on high-leverage engineering and\n architecture. </li></ul> <p><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/span></p> <p>Requirements<\/h3>What This Role Requires<\/b></p> <p><\/p>5+\n Years Linux & Ansible Mastery:<\/b> Deep experience in\n RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu administration.</p> <p><\/li>Ansible\n is not optional.<\/b> You must demonstrate experience writing complex\n playbooks from scratch to manage fleets of servers. If you rely on manual\n SSH loops, this role is not for you.</p> <p><\/li><\/ul>Team\n Leadership:<\/b> Experience managing technical teams (internal or\n external).</p> <p><\/li>You\n must be able to give clear technical direction. We need an\n "Owner" who verifies the work of others, not someone who\n blindly trusts a team to "fix it."</p> <p><\/li><\/ul>Vendor\n & Budget Experience:<\/b> Proven experience negotiating technical\n contracts and managing infrastructure costs.</p> <p><\/li>We\n need an "Owner" who fights for efficiency. If you just\n "swipe the credit card" without negotiating terms or auditing\n usage, this role is not for you.</p> <p><\/li><\/ul>SOC\n 2 / Compliance Experience:<\/b> Demonstrated ability to manage technical\n evidence for SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA audits.</p> <p><\/li>You\n must understand why<\/i> we need Change Management and Access Controls.</p> <p><\/li><\/ul><\/ul>What This Role Is NOT<\/b></p> <p><\/p>NOT\n a "Clipboard Manager":<\/b> You will manage teams, but you will\n also write code. If you are looking to retire from the CLI, this is not\n the role for you.</p> <p><\/li>NOT\n a "Spender":<\/b> You will not solve problems by just throwing\n more hardware at them. You must solve for margin<\/i>.</p> <p><\/span><\/li><\/ul>The Reality of This Role (Please Read)<\/b></p> <p><\/p>On-Site\n Collaboration:<\/b> We believe in\n high-bandwidth, face-to-face collaboration to solve complex problems. You\n will be expected to work from our Chicago, IL headquarters. 1 day a week work from home.</p> <p><\/li>Global\n Collaboration & Flexibility:<\/b> We are a global organization with a\n large engineering footprint in multiple time zones.
