<p>The Assistant Director of the Annual Giving plays a vital role within the Advancement Office, with a primary focus on cultivating a culture of philanthropy among young alumni. This entry-level position is designed for a motivated and goal-oriented individual passionate about education and relationship-building. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director will build and manage a young alumni giving program which aims to increase young alumni participation and their overall giving to the School.</p> <p>This is a full-time, year-round, benefits-eligible position offering valuable professional development within a collaborative, goal-oriented, and mission-driven environment.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Young Alumni Giving & Participation</p> <ul> <li>Identify, cultivate, and solicit young alumni (1-15 years past graduation) for their annual support. </li><li>Manage a portfolio of young alumni prospects with a focus on securing leadership-level gifts and building a pipeline for future support. </li><li>Actively educate young alumni about philanthropy at Choate and enhance visibility and awareness of the 1890 Society. </li><li>Lead fundraising campaigns and innovative initiatives designed to boost giving among our young alumni. </li><li>Collaborate with Alumni Relations to promote event attendance and deepen young alumni engagement. </li></ul> <p>Student Involvement</p> <ul> <li>Recruit, train, and supervise students in the Advancement Call Center. </li><li>Partner with colleagues in alumni and donor relations to strategically deploy student volunteers in service to Advancement goals and programs. </li><li>In collaboration with colleagues in alumni and donor relations, work with student volunteers to lead a campus-wide gratitude initiative </li></ul> <p>SECONDARY DUTIES</p> <ul> <li>Maintain detailed and timely records of all fundraising activity using the School's CRM. </li><li>Analyze giving trends and track progress toward participation and giving goals. </li><li>Contribute to metric-driven evaluation of strategies and continuously refine outreach efforts. </li><li>Represent the Advancement Office at key events including Family Weekend, Deerfield Day, Reunion Weekend, and other advancement-related functions. </li></ul> <p>JOB QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM KSA'S (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES) REQUIRED FOR PLACEMENT IN POSITION</p> <p>Formal Education: Bachelor's degree required</p> <p>Prior Experience</p> <ul> <li>At least two years of experience in fundraising or alumni relations preferred. </li><li>Prior experience in an independent school or educational setting is strongly valued </li></ul> <p>Other Key Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to engage varied audiences. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, manage, and inspire volunteers and peers. </li><li>Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. </li><li>Technologically adept; familiar with Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems quickly. Experience with CRMs such as Raiser's Edge a plus. </li><li>Analytical and data-driven thinker who is creative, flexible, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Regular travel required. </li></ul>
