<p>Job Description:</p> <p>David P. Angel Endowed Chair in Holocaust Pedagogy and Antisemitism Studies</p> <p>The Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark University invites applications for the endowed David P. Angel Endowed Chair in Holocaust Pedagogy and Antisemitism Studies. The appointment will be for a tenure-track or tenured professorship at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor.</p> <p>We seek a scholar whose research focuses on one of the following areas of inquiry:</p> <ul> <li>Contemporary antisemitism, including its complex manifestations and forms, its connections to other forms of prejudice, hatred, and extremism. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research uses innovative and inter-disciplinary methods to investigate antisemitism in online spaces, in the context of the fast-shifting frontiers of social media and AI technology. </li><li>Memory studies, museum studies, and educational practices related to Holocaust and Genocide Studies. </li></ul> <p>The holder of the position will be expected to offer both specialized advanced seminars in their area of expertise and introductory-level foundational courses in their broader discipline.</p> <p>In addition to serving as a member of their department, the holder of the David P. Angel Chair will take an active role in the Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies. Responsibilities will include the training of doctoral students, the development of administrative and leadership potential within the Strassler Center, collaboration on efforts to secure external support for the Strassler Center's educational and research agenda, and engagement with other interdisciplinary programs and research foci at Clark University.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Candidates will hold a degree in sociology, anthropology, political science, literary studies, data science, or related fields. The candidate will hold an appointment in a department appropriate to their field (e.g. Sociology), with the potential for cross-departmental appointments for interdisciplinary candidates.</p> <p>Eligible applicants must have completed their PhD by the time of appointment.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Expected Hiring Range: $ 80,000 to $150,000</p> <p>Pay Transparency Disclosure:</p> <p>The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials.
