<p>Description</p> <p>The Senior Commissioning Engineer leads commissioning planning, commissioning coordination, and schedule development for various Power Plant and/or Industrial Plants. This position will lead the commissioning planning for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems to ensure systems are commissioning with project start standards and procedures.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepare commissioning plans, specifications and checklists based on Burns & McDonnell standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Review designs, equipment submittals, operation and maintenance manual to develop commissioning plans, start-up reports and checklists.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement clear startup procedures as required by clients.</p> </li><li> <p>Direct project teams to manage project checkout and testing activities. Provide leadership with technical staff activities to complete startup system testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee project deliverables for contract execution.</p> </li><li> <p>Development and refinement of methodologies, tools, and standards in support of an evolving commissioning department.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead meetings with owner, operation and maintenance, design and construction personnel to understand project goals and schedule to ensure commissioning is properly coordinated.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop tools for tracking and reporting commissioning status to upper management, reporting progress and tracking project cost.</p> </li><li> <p>Recruit, retain, train, develop, and mentor department staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in engineering or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.</p> </li><li> <p>Masters degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering experience required, consulting preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced knowledge in mechanical or electrical engineering commissioning techniques, principles and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated project management skills and a strategic perspective.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of site safety procedures, including electrical safety.</p> </li></ul> <p>This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.</p> <p>EEO/Disabled/Veterans</p> <p>Job Engineering</p> <p>Primary Location US-MO-Kansas City</p> <p>Schedule: Full-time</p> <p>Travel: Yes, 25 % of the Time</p> <p>Req ID: 260003</p> <p>Job Hire Type Experienced #LI-MJ #PWR</p>
