<p>JobID: 33581</p> <p>Category: Food Safety & Quality Assurance</p> <p>JobSchedule: Full time</p> <p>Posted Date: 2026-04-03T17:59:08+00:00</p> <p>JobShift:</p> <p>:</p> <p>Food Safety and Quality Auditor</p> <p>1st shift 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday</p> <p>Pay: $22.65/hr</p> <p>The FSQ Auditor supports documentation review and maintenance of various USDA & FDA related Food Safety, Process and Quality Control Programs. This position also trains to cover for the FSQ Technician position. Incumbent must understand company specifications and government (USDA and FDA) requirements. Additionally, incumbent must demonstrate the ability to enforce accept/reject criteria and follow through with corrective actions and communication relevant to rejections. Good communication skills are required to thoroughly explain and interpret requirements and expectations for other team members, which could also include members of management.</p> <p>Food Safety & Product Quality Program Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Verify ingredient COA's against expected COA results to ensure ingredients received meet expected specifications and are only from specific approved supplier locations - this ensures Burke maintains compliance to Food Safety Modernization Act standards. Incorporated into this review is verifying the labels and/or ingredient statements for ingredients received against ingredient label information on file to ensure accuracy.</p> </li><li> <p>Verify checks required for Food Safety, Process and Quality Program compliance are documented as expected. Documentation being reviewed may be electronic or on paper (i.e. tool accountability, grinder teardown direct observations).</p> </li><li> <p>Assign facility audit duties to specific individuals in the Quality Assurance department - recap audit results and work with FSQ management as necessary to enter applicable work orders. This position is also responsible for various data entry/recap duties related to confidential Food Safety programs and other Operational Metrics, which require proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, in addition to basic knowledge of internal databases.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain internal quality performance incidents reporting within the Quality Performance Database. This entails data entry and updates until incident is resolved.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform slaughter verification activities to prepare Slaughter Certificates to support customer export capabilities.</p> </li></ul> <p>FSQ Tech Coverage and other Communication Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>The FSQ Clerk may aid the Quality Assurance Technician in performing daily GMP audits in RTE and raw production areas or may be responsible for performing these independently if FSQ Tech coverage calls for it. GMP audits involve correcting and retraining employees, including management, as appropriate, and notifying applicable management of violations. Additionally, GMP audits involve auditing and correcting team member personal safety violations and include independently resolving some problems to correct them real time. Documentation of GMP audits requires experience with Microsoft Excel; audits are e-mailed to applicable team members daily.</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation Discipline: incumbents may also assist in performing in-process and final reviews of documentation generated to support food safety and quality programs (i.e. label verification, formulation verification). A very high level of attention to detail is required, as the final reviews performed are often the last review for many documents before they are filed.</p> </li><li> <p>Incumbents may aid in performing a section of the bi-monthly internal plant process and facility audit and documents findings in a Microsoft Excel application.</p> </li><li> <p>When covering for the FSQ Technician position, incumbent is held accountable to be knowledgeable about Food Safety program requirements relating to production operations on the raw and RTE side of the facility. This knowledge is expected to be used to take initiative and interpret requirements to guide production management decision-making when events involving food safety and product quality occur. There are times when the incumbent may be the only FSQ representative in the building - if this is the case, and if he or she feels the decision being made by production or maintenance management is different than what incumbent would otherwise choose to do, a FSQ Lead Tech or member of FSQ management must be contacted and become involved in the situation. Incumbents are also responsible for independently verifying and overseeing corrective actions being performed in response to an event.
