<p>Job Title: Resident Director and Campus Communications Coordinator</p> <p>Reports to: Dean of Students</p> <p>Department: Student Affairs</p> <p>Status: Part-time, hourly</p> <p>Salary: $25,000 + housing, meal plan, and insurance benefits</p> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Resident Director and Communications Coordinator is a full-time, live-in professional staff member who supports the creation of Christ-centered community and oversees the Resident Assistant team. They coordinate campus communication efforts as a member of the Student Affairs staff. The Resident Director and Campus Communications Coordinator reports to the Dean of Students. The Resident Director works on an 11-month contract, from July 1 - May 31.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <p>A. Residence Halls</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support the creation of a collegiate and Christ-centered community.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee and manage Residence Assistants (RAs) under direction of Dean of Students:</p> </li><li> <p>Lead weekly meetings with RA team</p> </li><li> <p>Plan, coordinate and implement on and off-campus activities in conjunction with the RAs</p> </li><li> <p>Provide consistent presence in dining hall for meals</p> </li><li> <p>Set relevant goals with RA team members and monitor progress</p> </li><li> <p>Disciple and personally mentor students.</p> </li><li> <p>Be available as needed for emergencies including physical and mental health needs of students.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with hospitalization, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for knowing the policies listed in the Student Handbook and enforcing the policies through fines and other sanctions.</p> </li><li> <p>Be aware of students' spiritual needs and development while also providing leadership in prayer and Bible study as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct Residence Hall meetings as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to disciplinary issues as needed and assist RAs</p> </li><li> <p>Submit and ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.</p> </li><li> <p>Contact Wash Laundry and schedule access to halls for washer/dryer maintenance.</p> </li></ul> <p>B. Create a Media Strategy for Community Life</p> <ul> <li>Create and implement student engagement processes </li><li>Use student engagement metrics to inform student event offerings </li><li>Identify campus communication inefficiencies and create solutions as needed </li><li>Manage Community life portlet on the JICS Portal </li><li>Oversee the creation and distribution of the monthly Scoop and campus advertisements </li><li>Utilize appropriate social media platforms to promote campus events and activities </li><li>Create media, including graphics, photos and videos, as needed. </li><li>Manage slides for campus Digisigns </li><li>Manage campus events using Google Calendar </li></ul> <p>C. Professional/Personal Development</p> <ul> <li>Meet for weekly team meeting with Dean of Students/supervisor </li><li>Meet bi-weekly with supervisor one-on-one </li><li>Meet weekly with Student Affairs Team </li></ul> <p>D. Additional Roles/Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Full-time, 40 hours per week, with some hours flexing outside of traditional 8-5 work hours, including some hours in on-call rotation. Coordinate with supervisor to ensure coverage of Student Affairs office hours to connect with student affairs staff and respond to student needs. </li><li>Intentional involvement in student leadership development and training including RA training and Fall and Spring New Student Orientation </li><li>Plan on-campus and off-campus events as needed. </li><li>Conduct assessments and evaluations to better understand student needs and interests </li><li>Ensure adherence to budget and timely completion of Centercard transaction reports </li><li>Log and track meaningful conversations through CL Engage system. </li><li>Regular attendance at chapels. </li><li>Participation in All-Staff meetings. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications -</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
