<p>ACCOUNTING MANAGER</p> <p>Classification: Non-Emergency Essential</p> <p>Reports to: Town Manages</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibility: Possibly</p> <p>Primary Work Location: In/around the Town, with reporting, office duties and meetings at Town Hall and Town facilities.</p> <p>I. Position Summary</p> <ul> <li>Provide support and assistance in all departmental functions including but not limited to managing specific activities of the Finance Department for multi-fund, full-service municipal operation, general governmental, and enterprise funds. </li><li>Assists in the development, analysis, and reporting of key financial information to Council, staff and the public: Complex Financial Reports, Financial Statements, and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). </li><li>Assists with the preparation, development and completion of the annual budget including compiling approved departmental expenditure budgets, capital improvement projects, and completing revenue estimates. </li></ul> <p>II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintaining complex financial records, and to analyze and prepare reports. </li><li>Conducts oversight and review of monthly bank reconciliations. </li><li>Assists with the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and related statistical schedules for the Town's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). </li><li>Coordinate and manage complex accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and maintenance of the ledger accounts and statements. </li><li>Coordinates year-end audit functions with internal and external auditors. </li></ul> <p>III. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Planning, organizing and directing A/R, A/P, Payroll and accounting functions. </li><li>General principles of employee supervision as well as Town personnel rules. </li><li>Proficient in, or ability to rapidly become proficient with software applications related to municipal accounting, budgeting, and finance, as well as Microsoft Office suite of applications. </li><li>The ability to maintain discipline and the respect of employees, to lead and influence employees effectively, and to instruct employees in proper work methods and techniques. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing, rapidly evolving work environment. </li><li>The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town employees, elected officials and the general public. </li><li>The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. </li><li>Good judgment, integrity, thoroughness and dependability. </li><li>Any combination of experience and training which provides an equivalent to the minimum desirable employment standard. </li></ul> <p>IV. Experience</p> <ul> <li>At least 2 to 5 years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in the field of municipal Finance, Accounting, Banking, or a related field. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in multi-fund, municipal accounting with adherence to GAAP and GASB standards. </li></ul> <p>V. Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent accounting experience. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. </li><li>Possession of C.P.A. desirable, but not required. </li></ul> <p>VI. ADA Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Work requires siting, standing, and working in an administrative office setting for extended periods of time. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. </li><li>Work requires ability to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear in order to answer the phone, verbally communicate. Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing to draft written correspondences (physical and digital) to perform daily tasks. </li></ul> <p>VII. Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must successfully pass and maintain a criminal background and credit check, as well as drug screening as a safety sensitive position in finance. </li></ul> <p>APPLY HERE</p>
