URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City.</p> <p>_<strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>BASIC FUNCTION:</p> <p>The Executive Director of Undergraduate Admission provides strategic leadership and vision for the university's undergraduate recruitment, outreach, and admissions efforts. As a key member of the enrollment management team, the Executive Director is responsible for developing and implementing innovative, data-driven strategies to attract, recruit, and enroll a diverse and talented student body. This individual will lead a team of admission professionals, foster partnerships across campus, manage office budget, and ensure alignment with the university's mission and enrollment goals.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Strategic Planning and Leadership:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement comprehensive undergraduate admissions strategies to meet enrollment goals. </li><li>Use data analytics, market research, and demographic trends to drive high-impact decision-making and optimize outreach efforts. </li><li>Set standards for application review and decision-making, ensuring consistency and fairness. </li><li>Oversee the admissions budget and resource allocation. </li><li>Monitor and analyze admissions data to identify trends and inform future strategies. </li><li>Assess and select current and emerging technology and collaborate with key vendors to recruit and yield students. </li></ul> <p>Recruitment and Outreach:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the recruitment team in identifying and engaging potential undergraduate applicants through various channels and mediums. </li><li>Collaborate with University community, including academic colleges and departments, Student Life, Communications and Marketing, Office of International Education and others to recruit and enroll undergraduate students. </li><li>Collaborate in the development of marketing materials and messaging tailored to different student demographics. </li></ul> <p>Admissions Operations & Process Management:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the holistic and equitable evaluation of applications, ensuring a fair, transparent, and student-centered admissions process. </li><li>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies and ethical standards in admissions. </li><li>Manage the implementation and optimization of admissions technology, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Slate). </li><li>Develop and monitor key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of recruitment and admission efforts. </li></ul> <p>Student Engagement and Special Initiatives:</p> <ul> <li>Foster enrollment success by recruiting traditional and nontraditional students, including special populations, for traditional and online undergraduate program offerings. </li><li>Develop and implement programs to enhance student engagement throughout the admissions process. </li><li>Collaborate with other campus offices, including Enrollment Services, to support enrollment, access and affordability. </li></ul> <p>Team Leadership & Budget Management:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing admissions team. </li><li>Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. </li><li>Manage the admissions budget effectively, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities. </li></ul> <p>University & Community Involvement:</p> <ul> <li>Participate as admissions representative on campus, state committees and in regional and national organizations in regard to admissions and recruitment matters. </li><li>Serve as a member of the Enrollment Management Team. </li></ul> <p>Strategic Data Analysis & Use:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare statistical admission and enrollment reports. </li><li>Utilize CRM (currently SLATE) to manage applicant data through the admission process. </li><li>Work with team to assess areas of strength and areas of improvement for future admission cycles. </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Perform additional duties as required.</p> <p>LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:</p> <p>Personal computers, printers; various software.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>REQUIRED:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Master's degree.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in undergraduate recruitment and admissions.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, data-informed decision-making, and emerging enrollment trends.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated track record of growing a diverse applicant pool and student body regionally, nationally and globally.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated strong leadership, team-building, and staff development skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated record of developing and implementing effective, high-impact recruiting techniques and marketing plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience with admissions technologies, CRMs (e.g., Slate), and data analytics tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated managerial experience including budgeting, organizing, coordinating and supervising staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated relationship-building skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>PREFERRED:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Demonstrated experience with Slate.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience working at a public flagship or large research university.</p> </li></ol> <p>_<strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>The University of Rhode Island is an equal-opportunity employer committed to the principles of affirmative action.
