If you want to make a difference, be part of a great team and grow, you might be a perfect fit.</p> <p>About this role:</p> <p>As Director of Store Design at Tailored Brands, you will lead the creative development, planning, and execution of our retail environment across all store formats, including new stores, remodels, relocations, and experience-driven updates. You'll oversee a small internal team and external partners to deliver solutions that reflect our evolving brand identity and support operational and business goals. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for translating brand strategy into compelling physical spaces, driving design innovation, partnering cross-functionally, and delivering projects at scale with excellence and efficiency. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of how our customers experience our stores - grounded in both creativity and execution. This is position reports to the Vice President of Visual Merchandising.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a design lead and brand steward, ensuring all environments align with Tailored Brands' retail identity, values, and goals. </li><li>Oversee store design development for all store formats across multiple brands (new builds, remodels, relocations, and special format projects). </li><li>Lead the evolution of store templates, layouts, finishes, and fixture programs to improve flexibility, functionality, and in-store experience. </li><li>Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional partners across Visual Merchandising, Store Operations, Construction, Real Estate, Finance, and Marketing to align design with business strategy and execution timelines. </li><li>Translate business and operational requirements into customer-first solutions that balance design intent with cost and feasibility. </li><li>Guide the end-to-end process from early design concept through construction documentation and execution - ensuring timelines, budgets, and brand integrity are maintained. </li><li>Manage and mentor team, while overseeing a network of external architects, designers, and consultants. </li><li>Monitor and bring forward new materials, retail innovations, and design trends to elevate the customer journey. </li><li>Maintain accountability for creative direction, quality control, budget adherence, and project delivery at all phases. </li><li>Oversee the timely delivery of all design content, ensuring alignment with project objectives, brand strategy, and key milestones, while fostering clear communication with cross-functional partners and securing timely stakeholder input. </li><li>Lead high-priority initiatives as needed, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across all aspects of store design and in-store experience execution. </li><li>Additional duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 10+ years of progressive design experience in retail architecture, store design, or interior design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. </li><li>Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a related field. </li><li>Experience leading store design across multi-unit retail organizations, including rollouts and brand-specific experiences. </li><li>Skilled in translating brand identity into functional, scalable, and engaging in-store environments. </li><li>Proven ability to lead teams and external partners through design development, vendor coordination, and construction execution. </li><li>Deep understanding of materials, fixture systems, fabrication, and construction practices - able to manage the details without losing sight of the bigger picture. </li><li>Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing at all levels of the organization. </li><li>Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, including the ability to visually articulate concepts and solutions. </li><li>Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; additional experience with space planning tools or visual presentation software is a plus. </li><li>Curious, solution-oriented, and adaptable - able to manage a broad range of priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. </li></ul> <p>Please note that you do not need to qualify for all requirements to be considered. We take into consideration an individual's skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 20% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy.
