<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Cardiopulmonary Manager has 24-hour responsibility and accountability for supervision of clinical, diagnostic, and operational functions regarding the provision of quality patient care and cardiopulmonary diagnostics. critical care for adolescent and adult patients; adult</p> <p>rehabilitation, and cardiopulmonary diagnostic services.</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Discharge Planning </li></ol> <p>Is knowledgeable in the application of respiratory care beyond the acute care setting and skilled</p> <p>to identify and communicate perceived ongoing need for respiratory care.</p> <p>Is involved in the interdisciplinary activities of discharge planning as related to respiratory care.</p> <p>Is involved, as required, to assist in the testing, arrangements and coordination of respiratory</p> <p>care.</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Patient/Family Education </li></ol> <p>Is resource person with knowledge and familiar with health education resources to provide</p> <p>information about respiratory health and to instruct patient/family in application of respiratory</p> <p>therapy equipment and skills.</p> <ol start="9"> <li>Documentation and Communication </li></ol> <p>Is thorough, accurate, timely in completion of patient care documentation.</p> <p>Is thorough, accurate, timely in communication to hand-off of patient care information, and other</p> <p>information that impacts the operation of the department and interactions between departments.</p> <p>Demonstrates working computer skills and is able to navigate the Meditech system.</p> <p>Demonstrates effective communication skills.</p> <ol start="10"> <li>Blood Gas Lab and Respiratory Care Diagnostics </li></ol> <p>Is knowledgeable and proficient in performance of patient diagnostic testing and monitoring.</p> <p>Is a participant in the blood gas lab process in accordance with College of American Pathologist</p> <p>Laboratory Standards. Assures that the PFT Lab follows American Thoracic Society standards.</p> <ol start="11"> <li>Exclusion monitoring through the Compliance Resource Center (CRC) software. </li></ol> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education Requirements and Other Requirements:</p> <p>Education Level: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program</p> <p>Certification/Licensure: Current credentials with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC),</p> <p>Registry - RRT - required</p> <p>Current State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner License - required</p> <p>Adult/Pediatric CPR certification required (Available upon employment)</p> <p>Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required (Available upon employment)</p> <p>ACLS/PALS certification preferred.</p> <p>Experience Requirements: Minimum of three years clinical experience in Respiratory Care- required</p> <p>.</p> <p>Charge or Supervisory experience preferred.</p> <p>Working Conditions: Exposure Category I--Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues:</p> <p>All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin</p> <p>contact with blood, body fluids or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of them are Category tasks.</p> <p>Use of appropriate protective measures should be required for every employee who engages in Category I tasks.</p> <p>Physical Activity:</p> <p>NA 0-25% 26-75% 76-100</p> <p>Lift/Carry x</p> <p>Push/Pull x</p> <p>Reach Overhead x</p> <p>Climb x</p> <p>Squat/Bend/Kneel x</p> <p>Sit x</p> <p>Stand x</p> <p>Walk/Move About x</p> <p>The most significant duties have been included in this description.
