<p>Executive Director, Patient Services</p> <p>Location: Lexington, 1 Hartwell Pl Education level: Master or PhD Job category: New Product Planning Target start date: 7/1/2025 Work Location: Flex Shift: 1st</p> <p>uniQure is dedicated to bring innovative therapies for unmet medical needs to patients. In doing so each function in uniQure is directly or indirectly responsible for the lives of patients. This responsibility should be part of our day-to-day working life by (i) living up to high quality standards and (ii) by recognizing the sense of urgency in areas of high medical need.</p> <p>Through pioneering gene therapy, including our investigational candidate AMT-130 for Huntington's Disease, we're preparing for our first commercial launch - and seeking a passionate, strategic leader to help build a best-in-class patient experience program from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape a pioneering patient services offering and deliver a life-changing treatment experience to patients and families facing Huntington's Disease.</p> <p>Reporting to the Head of US Market Access & Patient Services, the Executive Director of Patient Services will lead the development, launch, and continuous evolution of uniQure's comprehensive US Patient Services function. This role is pivotal in supporting the launch of AMT-130 and future pipeline products.</p> <p>The ideal candidate is a mission-driven, patient-focused leader with extensive experience in rare, neurological, or advanced therapeutic areas - energized by building scalable service strategies that deliver compassionate, seamless, and personalized support experiences for patients and healthcare providers.</p> <p>Key result areas (major duties, accountabilities and responsibilities)</p> <p>Strategy & Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Lead the design, development, and execution of the US Patient Services strategy for AMT-130, aligned with uniQure's mission. </li><li>Develop a patient-centered model including case management, patient education, financial support, care coordination, and ongoing engagement. </li><li>Serve as a core member of the commercial leadership team, providing strategic insight on healthcare ecosystem needs. </li></ul> <p>Program Development & Management</p> <ul> <li>Establish and oversee high-touch, personalized support services for the Huntington's Disease and gene therapy communities. </li><li>Develop comprehensive affordability strategies, including co-pay and patient assistance programs. </li><li>Manage the selection, contracting, and performance of third-party service providers. </li></ul> <p>Cross-Functional & External Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Partner closely with Market Access, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and other functions for seamless patient service integration. </li><li>Collaborate with advocacy groups, caregivers, and healthcare providers to ensure patient voices shape service programs. </li><li>Continuously incorporate market insights and feedback into service enhancements. </li><li>Partner closely with IT to align on Architecture, Cyber Security and Compliance on selection and management of the patient services platform. </li></ul> <p>Operational Readiness & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Build streamlined and innovative infrastructure, processes, and systems for a successful gene therapy launch and future indications. </li><li>Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize service performance and inform decisions. </li><li>Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate standards (HIPAA, HITECH, CMS policies). </li></ul> <p>Leadership & Team Development</p> <ul> <li>Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing Patient Services team, fostering a culture of compassion, integrity, and innovation. </li></ul> <p>#LI-EB1</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, MSW) preferred. </li><li>15+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech, including 10+ years in Patient Services leadership roles with rare, neurological, or advanced therapy experience; gene therapy experience is a strong plus. </li><li>Expertise in patient support programs (case management, education, affordability) and US healthcare payer/reimbursement systems. </li><li>Proven success building and scaling high-performing teams and managing third-party service providers. </li><li>Exceptional strategic, operational, and interpersonal leadership skills. </li><li>Deep passion for improving the lives of patients with rare, neurodegenerative diseases. </li></ul>
