<p>The Director is responsible for managing the overall operations of the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion and Population Health. This is a dynamic position that requires viewing public health programming and executing initiatives at various levels (program development, research and evaluation, communications, teaching). The Director will oversee the development of public health-related programming, evaluation, communications, and revenue generation; oversee the National Healthy Monday Program (an initiative that promotes sustainable health behavior change); seek and manage external funding related to program evaluation and implementation; hire and manage Center staff; oversee processes and procedures for marketing and digital communications; build and maintain internal and external relationships and partnerships; and work collaboratively with the Lerner Chair to identify strategic areas of growth to further the Center's mission.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Requires a master's degree in public health, communications, public administration, or health education/promotion or related discipline. </li><li>Requires five (5) plus years of relevant experience in public health, health promotion, and/or health education, preferably in a campus or community setting. </li><li>Preference for three (3) plus years of experience conducting program evaluation in the fields of population and/or public health. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Requires a professional that is self-motivated and directed, yet able to transition easily to team-based work. </li><li>Requires the ability to think critically and independently, problem solve and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. </li><li>Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. </li><li>Requires experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. </li><li>Requires specialized professional knowledge and skills in campus and community health and program development. </li><li>Requires expertise in development of strategies, translation into programs, managing the implementation, and evaluating program effectiveness. </li><li>Requires skills in both attention to detail and big-picture strategic thinking. </li><li>Preference for research and program evaluation skills. </li><li>Preference for an orientation to higher education and staff and student development and mentorship. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage the vision, mission, and strategic planning for the Lerner Center. This includes identifying and implementing new program initiatives and strategies for revenue generation (e.g., external grants, revenue-generating courses). </li><li>Establish annual budget in consultation with the Lerner Chair, actively monitor budget, prepare all budget, donor, and any required internal and external reports in a timely manner. </li><li>Seek external funding related to health promotion and population health program evaluation and research; lead data collection, analysis, and evaluation of the Lerner Center's health promotion programs; provide methodological expertise and project management for program evaluation activities internal and external to the Center; and create evaluation reports that drive program decision-making with internal and external stakeholders. </li><li>Supervise and manage Lerner Center staff and undergraduate assistants and interns. </li><li>Oversee the national Healthy Monday Program, and work with the Digital/Social Media Specialist to grow its reach. This includes partnership cultivation, strategic program development and implementation, and evaluation. </li><li>Manage internal and external relationships (including with the Center's donor), identify opportunities for collaboration with SU Lerner faculty affiliates and Lerner Centers at other institutions, and serve as point of contact for the Center. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
