<p>POSITION TITLE: Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology - Communication Sciences and Disorders</p> <p>COMPENSATION RANGE: 64,000.00 - 70,500.00 USD per year</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Faculty</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Communication Sciences & Disorders</p> <p>TARGET HIRE DATE: 8/17/2026</p> <p>BENEFITS: UNC's Career Hub</p> <p>Candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of application; UNC cannot provide H-1B sponsorship at this time.</p> <p>To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 11:59pm (MT) on 03/03/2026.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position in Speech-Language Pathology at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2026. We seek a dynamic educator-scholar committed to preparing the next generation of speech-language pathologists and advancing the field through high-quality research, teaching and service. While individuals with broad scholarship and experience are encouraged to apply, desired areas of expertise in dysphagia, voice, upper airway disorders, and/or other areas of medical practice will be prioritized.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in communication sciences and disorders (e.g., Feeding and Swallowing Disorders, Voice and Resonance Disorders, foundations of clinical practice). </li><li>Conduct a focused and sustained program of research that contributes to the advancement of speech-language pathology. </li><li>Pursue external funding to support research and professional activities. </li><li>Advise and mentor undergraduate and master's students, including supporting undergraduate and graduate thesis projects. </li><li>Contribute to program, school, university, and professional service (e.g., recruitment and retention efforts, undergraduate/graduate program coordination, university committees). </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D) in speech-language pathology, communication sciences and disorders, or a related field is required (ABD with expected completion by hire date will be considered). </li><li>Candidates should have aptitude and a plan for conducting scholarly research with demonstrated potential for success in obtaining external funding and disseminating research findings. </li><li>Applicants should have a spirit of collaboration and a passion for learning. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Certificate of Clinical Competence and eligibility for Colorado licensure in speech-language pathology is desired but not required. </li><li>Experience with online education is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Target Start Date: August 17, 2026</p> <p>Contact and Application Deadline:</p> <p>Application documents to be submitted online are a letter of application/cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy, research interest, unofficial graduate school transcripts, names and contacts of three references, and a statement on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
