<p>As a member of the DP World ("DPW") Group Compliance team for the Americas region the incumbent will support the Regional Head of Compliance, Americas Region in the implementation and enhancement of DP World's trade compliance program for the freight forwarding business globally, with specific focus on North America.</p> <p>Key Accountabilities:</p> <ul> <li>Implement DPW's export/import compliance standards, guidelines and compliance monitoring procedures for freight forwarding operations in the USA, Canada and Mexico. </li><li>Identify and escalate any potential violations of trade compliance regulations (ITAR, EAR, Anti-Boycott, FTR) and implement process improvements to mitigate risks. </li><li>Support internal, external and government-directed trade compliance site visits, audits and assessments and assist with corrective actions, as necessary. </li><li>Advise the freight forwarding business on the application and implementation of trade compliance initiatives, trade regulations etc. and work with key stakeholders to formulate best practice solutions and strategies </li><li>Assist in compliance-related training initiatives including training material development and delivering of training, targeted to various stakeholders </li><li>Drive the standardization of trade compliance processes and assist with trade compliance-related matters relevant to the US, Canada (and Mexico) BUs </li><li>Participate in, and provide input to, new customer proposals/tenders </li><li>Review licensed transactions and maintain accurate books and records for shipments to sanctioned countries, in line with regulatory requirements. Liaise with the Head office SME as necessary/appropriate </li><li>Perform and coordinate other related tasks as required by the Regional Head of Compliance, Americas Region. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Skills and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience as a trade compliance professional, preferably within a multinational logistics company or MNC with exposure to the export control environment of the US, Canada and Mexico. Experience within a freight forwarding/brokerage environment is a plus. </li><li>Significant knowledge of trade compliance and customs law. </li><li>Possess good working knowledge of ITAR/CGP and EAR/EIPA/ECA </li><li>Good working knowledge of US and Canada's trade economic sanctions regulations with particular emphasis on OFAC and GAC sanctions as well as strong general knowledge about the U.S. Department of Commerce, BIS, U.S. State Department, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) export control regulations. </li><li>Knowledge of the logistics and/or supply chain industry </li><li>Experience working with 3PL customers on import and export issues </li><li>Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Transportation Regulations </li><li>AES application experience. AMS familiarity is a plus. </li><li>Highly ethical, principled and diligent with excellent planning and project management skills. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional, regional and/or global teams. </li><li>Strong attention to detail, with an analytical mindset. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to apply industry best practices, concepts, and standards. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, to work independently and manage discrete areas of responsibility with little direct supervision. </li><li>Strong ability to champion a comprehensive compliance program, including ethics-related elements. </li><li>An industry-related and/or compliance-related certification is a plus. </li><li>Fluency in, or working knowledge of, Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus </li></ul>
