The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a love of music in students and promoting their musical growth and development.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that aligns with state standards and district goals. </li><li>Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate best instructional practices, including differentiated instruction, collaborative learning, and technology integration. </li><li>Teach various aspects of music education, including vocal and instrumental music, music theory, and music history. </li><li>Foster a classroom environment that is welcoming, respectful, and supportive of all students, promoting equity and inclusion. </li><li>Assess and evaluate students' progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their musical growth. </li><li>Encourage students to explore their musical talents and express themselves creatively through performance and composition. </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning and create opportunities for students to showcase their musical abilities. </li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in music education. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field. </li><li>Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Music Education [Music, PK-12 (049)] </li><li>Experience teaching music at various grade levels. </li><li>Strong knowledge of child development and instructional strategies for music education. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. </li></ul>
