<p>The Temporary Office Coordinator serves as a key administrative support role within the Department of Mathematics, providing high-quality, customer-focused assistance to faculty, staff, teaching assistants, and students. Reporting to the Operations Specialist, this position is responsible for coordinating textbook and desk copy orders, processing travel reimbursements, and serving as a primary liaison between the department, campus offices, and external vendors. With a strong understanding of university procedures and a professional presence in the office, this role represents the department to campus constituents and ensures smooth daily operations.</p> <p>This is a Part-Time (20 hours/week) position.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma with three (3) plus years of experience. </li><li>Associate's degree or equivalent preferred plus two (2) plus years of office experience preferably in an academic environment. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe Professional suite, with the ability to create and revise documents. </li><li>Good oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Solid interpersonal skills. </li><li>Good organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced professional environment. </li><li>Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information. </li><li>Knowledge of PeopleSoft or related system is preferred but not required. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Serve as initial departmental representative to incoming constituencies as appropriate and perform administrative and clerical duties that require limited independent judgment, yet some level of confidentiality. </li><li>Be present in the office to provide services to campus constituents. Interpret policies and procedures. </li><li>Handle a variety of tasks supporting students, faculty, and staff, that include: </li><li>Perform secretarial duties and coordinate the office routine, which may include: managing and coordinating calendars, schedules, and appointments; making travel arrangements; assisting in the preparation and editing of correspondence; coordinating mailings. </li><li>Process and keep track of expenses associated with the operation of the office. </li><li>Monitor and order supplies and services. </li><li>Assist with planning and execution of department events. </li><li>Respond to general department inquiries.
