Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10-week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned. </li><li>Gains industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments. </li><li>Develops skills needed for career in industrial distribution. </li><li>Supports assigned manager with business project work. </li><li>Presents intern project results to business leaders. </li><li>Perform independent research. </li><li>Supports the daily maintenance process, in salesforce, for customer assignments. </li><li>Participates in territory optimizations, supporting the sales team and customer needs. </li><li>Work cross-functionally with sales team, variable compensation team and other members of sales operations. </li><li>Learns & fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose. </li><li>Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>What You Need:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma required. </li><li>Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university. </li><li>Excellent academic record. </li><li>Proficient use of Microsoft Office software required. </li><li>Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. </li><li>Excellent time management and organizational skills required. </li><li>Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required. </li></ul> <p>Bonus Points If You Have:</p> <ul> <li>Area of study in Business preferred. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A valid driver's license may be required. </li><li>This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information ("ITAR") and/or Controlled Unclassified Information ("CUI") </li></ul>
