<p>Community Public Charter</p> <p>Instructional Assistant Job Description</p> <p>Job Definition: Our teachers count on teaching assistants to bring the best to the classroom every day. We're searching for a qualified teaching assistant to join us in delivering the high-quality education we're known for. The ideal candidate will have experience with child (or student) development, supervision, and education. He/She will be expected to help prepare lesson plans on a regular basis, ensuring students' needs and concerns are met and supported during execution. Strong interpersonal communication skills and a positive, patient attitude are essential to the role.</p> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <p>Experience: Minimum of Associate's degree from regionally accredited college/university</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Proven experience working with students </li><li>Effective communication skills; oral, written, and visual </li><li>Understanding of basic principles of childhood development </li><li>Comfortable interacting with children, guardians, and staff </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, etc. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.</p> <p>Job Description: Classroom teacher assistants support the teacher in planning and presenting lessons, and help students learn..</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide support and reinforcement for teacher and lessons </li><li>Give one-on-one or small group instruction and lesson review </li><li>Help teachers with attendance, grading, and other administrative tasks </li><li>Set up materials and equipment to help teachers prepare lessons </li><li>Provide additional supervision for students during class, lunch, recess, between classes, and on class outings or field trips </li></ul> <p>DISCLAIMER</p> <p>The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
