The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Role Summary:</p> <p>The NBCUniversal Music Business & Legal Affairs department oversees music matters across the NBCUniversal portfolio, including TV, Filmed Entertainment and Parks & Resorts. Although this position will be primarily dedicated to NBCUniversal's TV & Streaming (including NBC News, NBCUOTS, Sports & Olympics, Late Night & Specials) division, this role may also assist other clients across the business, as needed. The Contract Specialist- Music Business & Legal Affairs role will specifically support the SVP, Music Business & Legal Affairs, other attorneys and professional staff in the department.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Under supervision of a senior attorney, negotiate, draft, review and interpret an extensive range of agreements, including, but not limited to, composer, recording talent and producer agreements, soundtrack distribution agreements, and license agreements </li><li>Assist with research, creating deal summaries and maintaining and otherwise administering day-to-day contractual and operational matters, including data entry, preparation of letters and memoranda to internal and external clients, presentations to senior-level management, etc. </li><li>Provide general risk assessment, advice and support to the business </li><li>Generally support the other attorneys and professionals in the department; including special projects and overflow tasks </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Basic Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>1+ years experience in a professional role requiring strong analytic and organizational skills and careful attention to detail, as well as a Bachelor's Degree; OR (2) a Juris Doctorate Degree </li><li>Superior communication, interpersonal, drafting, analytical and organizational skills </li><li>Self-starter, high level of motivation, ability to work independently </li><li>Excellent written and verbal skills </li><li>Proficient in Outlook Calendar, Contacts </li><li>Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel </li></ul> <p>Desired Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to respond quickly and effectively to client concerns, questions and issues </li><li>High level of integrity and discretion </li><li>Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks </li><li>Ability to work with a large team with varying skill sets and needs </li><li>Excellent client service and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to exercise proper judgment to assess priorities </li><li>Resourceful, proactive, assertive, detail-oriented and energetic </li><li>Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities and multiple assignments </li><li>Ability to work well under pressure and with tight time constraints </li><li>Proven ability to make effective decisions and solve problems </li><li>Positive attitude; team player </li><li>Superior time management and organizational skills </li><li>Willingness to learn every aspect of our business and become a highly valued asset </li></ul> <p>Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.</p> <p>This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
